Qualifications

34 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry; including 5 years as Operations Manager for Georgia-Pacific, Naheola Mill and 4 years as Operations Manager for Georgia-Pacific, Bleached Board Mill Operations. Also includes a total of 11 years as Converting and Tissue Mill Manager for Georgia-Pacific, Naheola Mill.

Proven ability to organize and lead teams in pursuit of production, operating efficiency, safety and cost savings goals.

Mill Improvement Process, utilizing lean and 6 sigma tools, drives efficiency improvement efforts to reduce waste and increase cost reduction efforts. MIP was a quarterly Mill led effort to identify and improve waste reduction, increase production capabilities, and reduce total cost. The MIP waves led to approximately $250K reduction in spending quarterly. I was the lead for 2 years and our savings totaled about $1.5MM during that time.

Naheola normally adds a 6thS for Safety improvement to what most other mills normally refer to as 5S Kaizen effort. This makes 6S improvement effort which is Safety, Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain. This is a systematic approach to improve and maintain the mill operating floor or any other area that is a housekeeping problem.

Implemented reliability improvement efforts that included precision maintenance, preventative and predictive maintenance, root cause failure analysis(RCFA), lubrication and contingency Among others.
