Projects
SolidWork modeling: draw 3D models of the parts of a butterfly valve and assemble them together, prepare the 2D drawings of the valve and the parts Metal Toy Truck: use manufacturing processes to make a metal toy truck. Includes sand casting, milling, and turning
Elevator Design: design a high speed elevator with ASME standard. Choose components from available commercial parts. Draw the 3D model of the parts and assemble them all together in CAD
Piping System Design: design a pipe system with given schematic, pump curve, and certain assumptions. Analyze and calculate for data such as fluid velocity, pipe diameter, total head losses, water hammer speed, and pressure rise.
Heat Exchanger: design a water-to-air heat exchanger with given requirements and assumptions. Analyze and calculate the specific design and the resulting values. Electronic Cooling: analyze the temperature distribution, flow velocity, and pressure distribution of different cooling designs of an electronics cabinet using ANSYS Icepak and QDC
(an Excel program). Designs include cooling fan, heat sink, and heat pipe. Cooling fan, heat pipe, and card-lok for PCBs are selected from commercial manufacturer. Air Conditioning: design HVAC system for Irvine, Co. Building located on Fashion Island Senior Project: analyze an organic rankine cycle for an alternative solution for a solar chimney power plant design.
Work History
01/16/2017 – 06/12/2017 Telecom Drafter, CHC Consulting, Orange, CA
- Following fielders’ notes and given designs, draft the facilities and designs into AutoCAD or the client’s GIS
- Adding given fiber counts to new cable in the geographic information system
- Using Excel spreadsheet, prepare make-ready work lists from fielders’ notes
