PROJECTS

Anna University Final Project: Microcontroller based multipurpose robot

Partnered with 2 other students to develop a robot that would function using a microcontroller (PIC 16F877A)and would provide detailed data feeds to rescue operations teams during natural disasters

Developed an application using Labview for data feeds (HT12E encoder) from the robot including obstacle detection, metal detection, gas leakage detection, person monitoring and fire extinction

Presented to faculty that our findings showed almost 50 % of the manual intervention in rescue operations would be reduced and operational standards would be improved

University of Oklahoma: Implemented SIX SIGMA for the Clinical Trials Office (CTO)-Green belt project

Utilized SIX SIGMA methodology to improve the operations quality of the CTO that provides support required to successfully conduct oncology research within the Stephenson Cancer Center

Assessed current operations to determine ways to optimize the work performance of a staff of 50 Research Nurses, Data Managers, Regulatory Staff and Informatics Personnel

Analyzed the current manual process for registering and storing files of participants in clinical trials to identify areas of improvement in both the data entry process and patient service delivery

Achieved an 80% reduction in average DM time for chart location using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) method

University of Oklahoma: Sustainable supply chain management practices in rural India

Utilized Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and systems dynamics techniques to assess production flow problems and address issues of medicine shortages in a rural part of India

Assessed benchmark data to determine usage and R software to predict the future demands

Proposed a switch from buyers managing inventory to vendor managed inventory to streamline the logistics process for providing medicine

Presented to faculty that we determined 40% of child mortality rates can be reduced and employment in clinics can be increased by 50% through the implementation of these techniques
