India Cements Limited (Tamilnadu, India) December 2014
• Gained knowledge about the operations of various units including crusher, vertical roller mill, electrostatic precipitator, conveyors & packaging unit.
Ashok Leyland (Tamilnadu, India) April 2014
• Gained an insight of the real time assembly of engine, frame, axle & chassis of buses and trucks. Hindustan Machine Tools (Karnataka, India) October 2014
• Gained knowledge in the process of die casting, material testing, CNC machining, grinding, gear-hobbing & milling. Academic research and projects:
Four-wheel vehicle suspension model 04/2017 – 05/2017
• Developed a four-wheel vehicle suspension model which accounts for realistic suspension geometry, spring and damper coefficients, unsprung mass, etc
• Obtained Simulation results for roll, pitch and bounce for step impulses (bump, pothole, etc.) using Matlab/Simulink.
• Improved results by adding a cubic non-linear spring to the full car suspension model. Cost Optimization in Production using Inventory Control 04/2017 – 05/2017
• A real time industrial problem was chosen for which the production cost optimization and inventory control is desired.
• Various linear programming tools such as SLP, Linprog, GAMS, AMPL and heuristics were used to find the optimal number of units to be produced and the optimal cost of production. Design of Speed Reduction Gear Drive 11/2016 – 12/2016
• Designed a gearset intended for use as a right-angle motor speed reducer and the gearbox was a compact, enclosed unit mounted directly to the motor output and its output shaft was at a 90 angle to the input shaft.
• Used gears (Helical & Bevel) with a factor of safety=2 & 99% reliability, bearings were designed according to an online bearing catalog.
Experimental study of performance & emission of diesel engine using biodiesel 02/2016 – 04/2016
• Reduced the emission of pollutants and increased the performance of the diesel engine.
• Performed blending of cottonseed oil (10%) & coconut oil (20%) with conventional diesel in different ratios & tested it in a Variable Compression Ratio engine.
Pneumatic Bench Vice Model 02/2015 – 04/2015
• Created a model of bench vice which is pneumatically operated.
• Air pressure is used to create mechanical motion in the spindle of the vice and provide a safe and efficient way to reduce human effort
