Lead a team while designing the LP compressor of a turbocharger. CFD and FEM, Damage & fatigue life estimation under service loads, body simulations, mirror vibration analysis.

Simulations are performed for the turbocharger.

Performed a detailed engineering calculation and documentation of the LP compressor for developing a new design. The whole setup is tested So, as to show about a 2.5 percent increase in 1200KW Diesel engine efficiency.

INTERSHIPS:

Company: Great Logics, LLC, Detroit, USA January 2017-present

Role: Mechanical Design Intern.

Description: Assisted in the designing of blades for the wind turbine, Automotive components, also in creating the BOM.

Responsibilities:

Working under mechanical design engineer for creating the blade design for wind turbine using a surfacing module in CATIA V5. And gave dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) as per ASME 14.5.

Creation of BOM in the excel by referring the blue prints of the machine. Assisting in designing the fan blades, stator and rotor of the ceiling fan and made the mold and die for the rotor in the SOLIDWORKS.

Simulation of the flow of air under designated RPM of the fan in ANSYS fluent by meshing in Hyperworks.

Performed incoming inspection of materials.

Assisted in creating of Control plan, FMEA and process flow diagrams.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

Project 1:

Company: Western Michigan University September 2015- December 2015 Description: Designing of Reciprocating Compressor for a Specified pressure.

It is projected for designing the reciprocating compressor with the required external pressure.

Thus, using pressure the two stage reciprocating compressors are designed using NX9.

The designed compressors are meshed in the ANSYS and simulated in Static Structural for Axial stresses, Strain also Von mises stresses.

Also simulated in CFD (FLUENT) for Flow Analysis, CFD (CFX) for Thermal analysis.

Project 2: January 2015- February 2015

Company: Western Michigan University

Description: Design and impact analysis of a Car Door

The objective of the test is to find the magnitude of impact on the car door.

The preprocessing of door is done in CREO for designing and assembly.

Thus, the door is exported from CREO to Hyper mesh 3 D (hexa RADIOSS).

Thus, the pre processed model is solved in STATIC STRUCTURAL (ANSYS) solver for stresses and displacements.

Then, the results are interpreted for the behavior of the car door for different load/force applied on the door.

Project 3: September 2016- December 2016

Company: Western Michigan University.

Description: Design and analysis of Pressure vessel.

The objective of this project is to design the pressure vessel using the design pressure.

Thus, the different parts of the pressure vessel are selected as per ASME standards.

After assembling the pressure vessel in the Solidedge. The design is exported to the hyper mesh meshed it using 2 D elements (mainly using quad elements).

After that processing is carried out in the STATIC STRUCTURAL in ANSYS for the stress distribution, displacements and Von mises stresses.

EDUCATION:

Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)
