GID is a Kuala Lumpur based corporate training consultancy which specialises in designing and delivering a wide array of customised in-house & corporate training & developmental courses

Strategic & Developmental responsibilities:

• Developed Human Resources strategies & plans (annual, mid and long term) in the Greater China and South East Asia region in support to the operational needs of MSF

• Drove implementations of the regional HR activities

• Analysed and evaluated activities, targets, results and re-acted when necessary

• Represented the region in global HR platforms (Belgian group of 9 & International group of 24)

• Responsibility as one of the 5 Core Executive Management Team for the Hong Kong section

Principal Accountabilities:

• Conceptualised and drove human resources strategies, policies and development initiatives in Southeast Asia, and Greater China, including: labour market analysis, attraction, recruitment and strategic development within the region

• Managed the HR policies and processes, pertaining to recruitment & selection, placement, career guidance and management, learning & development

• Developed and managed the annual, mid and long term regional HR plans and budgets

• Analysed and evaluated activities, targets, results and revised HR policies and strategies accordingly

• Represented the region in international HR platforms (International Human Resources Director’s group of 24) and contributed to the movement wide strategic HR developments including formulation and implementation of international policies, processes and tools

Since leading the Field HR of MSF-Hong Kong and with support from a great team, besides ensuring a healthy supply of HR quantity annually, I had successfully enhanced the quality of human resources supplied to MSF field operations world-wide. This was achieved through measures which were put in place after identifying specific domains which could further be developed. As a result, MSF-Hong Kong is now known among the MSF operational centres to supply high quality HR, boasting good retention (among the best in the movement), individuals with solid competencies, technically polyvalent, bringing diversity to the movement, as well as, able to provide accessibility to restrictive contexts. I pushed for strategic increase of deployments doubling the annual departures since taking over. At the international platform level, I’ve contributed to the formulation of global policies and coherent practises such as developing an international HRIS, an international remuneration package, building an international dictionary of competencies and common recruitment practises. At the regional level, I drove the formulation of the APAC HR group consisting of offices within the region driven by objectives of regional cooperation, rationalization & cost effectiveness.

3. Senior Regional HR Officer (Career Manager) - Medecins Sans Frontieres (Hong Kong) – Jan 2007 till Dec 08 (2 years)

Responsible for HR activities in South East Asia and South Asia

Main Responsibilities:

• Recruitment & Selection within the Southeast Asia & Greater China region, and jointly for South Asia

• Mission placement, manpower planning and career guidance

• Representation, awareness raising and labour market communications
