CODETEL (Compañía Dominicana de Teléfonos (GTE, Verizon) Santo Domingo Subdirector, Architecture and Space Planning – Around 60-65 staff in seven units
• Nation-wide coordination of architectural-related strategies and office space planning within CODETEL's ambitious Expansion Plan. Office bldgs., communication centers, telephone centrals, warehouses and garages, executive residences, employees’ clubs.
• In-house coordination with sub-directions of civil and electrical-mechanical engineering, Liaison with external consultants and contractors.
• Small towns/villages urban analysis to determine convenient locations and facilities;
• Proposed and partially implemented a re-structuring proposal for the sub-direction. I was a contracted consultant. Very intense experience. Reason for leaving: migrated to USA. SERCITEC (Servicios Científicos y Técnicos, Engineering Consultants), Santo Domingo Chief Architect, 8 to 15 staff according to projects
• Concept design and construction documents of all projects involving planning and architecture. Main projects: feasibility studies for two Free Industrial Parks (los Alcarrizos and Villa Mella), including coordination of socio- economic and demographic analysis. Same for two large Tourist Resorts (Las Cayenas and Las Terrenas). Feasibility study for CODETEL's (Tel company, see above) project of a 30 stories building in Sto Dgo;
• Design manager for PIISA (Parque Industrial de Itabo, s.a.), the electronics and pharmaceuticals Free Zone Park, in which our president was a partner. We developed construction documents for all leasers (mostly American corporations), under their oversight.

*The Logistics Service Division (NYC & Brindisi) of the Department of Field Support (DFS) comprises different Sections intimately working together and with the UN Procurement Division to offer technical and logistics support (goods and services: --from pencils to helicopters; from small to regional turnkey contractors) in their respective domains to all peacekeeping and political field missions around the world (16-21 missions; 110,000+ personnel). Along with the Engineering Section, there are the Geospatial, IT and Comms Section, Surface Transport Section, General Supply Section, Medical Section and the Air Operations Section.
**The UN Global Service Center (Italy) is a Logistic Base, Training Center, and Comms/IT Hub, serving all field missions. It is located in the military part of the Brindisi airport (hosted by Italian Government through MOU). UN exclusive facilities include 60+ buildings (offices, warehouses, workshops, technical buildings and ancillary installations, in a ~ 270,000 sqm site, including green areas, outdoor storage space and container yards.
***The Engineering/Facilities Management Sections comprised four units: Planning and Projects, Building and Campus Maintenance, Asset/Warehouse Management and Generator Workshop. The first two took care of the base, the others dealt with the stock and logistics for missions. The Engineering domains are: all accommodation & ablutions (prefabs, construction, and leases); electricity and power generation; water purification and supply; HVAC; solid waste and waste water management; physical security (defense stores); environmental engineering; and campus services.
