Guest Service Representative, 07/1982 to 06/1983 Baptist Health – Little Rock
I was a liaison between families and hospital staff in a Critical Care and Surgical setting. I worked days, nights and weekends. I provided communication to and from the care of the patient. Communication was in person and by phone. Physicians were directed to family members and assisted whenever emotional situations arose. Customer Service was paramount in this role.

I was responsible for all aspects of compensation analysis for all positions at Baptist Health. I performed written and telephone surveys. I analyzed the completed survey data metrics for possible salary adjustments. I reviewed positions and when adjustments were indicated, I analyzed the financial impact. I was responsible for executive leadership presentations to obtain approval. I performed job measurement for new and revised positions. I implemented an incentive program for an entity within the organization.

I was responsible for all aspects of employee benefit administration. I managed five benefit employees, one
onboarding specialist and two data entry specialists. Benefits included: health, dental, life, long term disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement, personal time off and optional insurances. My staff enrolled employees into these benefits, as well as coordinate any claims needed. For onboarding, my staff was responsible for new hire paperwork, legal processes including I-9 verification, w-4, personal data updates. Data entry specialists performed all data entry for the system staff including new hire paperwork, annual performance reviews, any status change and termination paperwork. My staff was the face of HR once new hires came onboard until termination. Customer Service was always important.

Promoted into one of two System Human Resource Director positions. My role was responsible for the
following HR functions including all staff and vendor relationships:
Employee Benefits as described above plus Employee Health- including employee health office, flu clinics, self- insured workers compensation management program and claims management as well as safety.
Organizational Development- all aspects of employee training outside of nursing education. We educated all
new hires, leadership training and all annual ongoing customer service training.
Human Resource Director, 03/2013 to 04/2017
Baptist Health – Arkansas Health Group/Baptist Medcare DBA Practice Plus
I was asked to take this position when the previous HR Director retired. The position included directing all HR aspects for these two entities within Baptist Health. HR duties included: Recruiting and Retention for 1300 Clinic management support and administrative positions including but not limited to physician assistants, Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurse, LPN, support positions, clerical support, clinic management as well as over 100 administrative support roles located at the corporate offices. Onboarding including background checks, drug testing, paperwork such as I-9, W-4, personal data to provide us necessary legal documentation. Once hired we conducted new employee orientation. During orientation, new hires learned about our culture, policies, customer service and benefits. As HR Director, I was responsible for legal compliance with HIPPA, corporate compliance, employee relations, EEOC, Unemployment, Background Checks, etc.
