Project Experience
University of Connecticut Nursing Department
Senior Design Leadership role (May 2016-May 2017)
oConducted the research, design, development and construction of a device used to quantify, as accurately as possible, an infant’s milk intake during feeding in the NICU
oDesigned device through sensor implementation and creation of desired display models using the Arduino and LabVIEW programming platforms.
oDirected the engineering team’s efforts in ensuring the success of the project by offering hands-on assistance as well as resolving technical issues encountered throughout the process of device development using trouble shooting strategies
oPlanned, strategically, the project timeline, managing team spending for device parts, and creating weekly presentations and reports in a timely manner
University of Connecticut Health Center
Junior Design Leadership role (September 2015-January 2016)
oDeveloped leadership skills by participating in the development of a reduced carry over substrate holder design for the Varistain 24-4 used by the health center through utilization of 3-D printing techniques resulting in 75% less carry over
