Wolfspeed is a technology and market leading, vertically integrated company with manufacturing starting at raw materials through to finished components.

Director of Operations 2016 – Aug 2017

• Led operations for Epi, Fab, Test, Assembly and external subcon manufacturing GaN HEMT and SiC Mosfet and Schottky devices. Focus on driving continuous improvement throughout the organization

• Responsible for >350 employees with 7 direct reports reporting to the General Manager for the division. This included Process, Product, Quality, Industrial and Equipment Engineering along with 24/7 manufacturing operations across two sites and 4 external sub-cons.

• Ramped volumes nearly 2x in 18 months, facilitated significant improvements in net yields, and reduced factory constraints to improve factory cycle time.

• Factories were TS16949 certified and working toward IATF standards.

• Developed 3-yr capital plan to support rapidly expanding demand while also coordinating transition from 100 mm to 150 mm for power products.

QORVO – Greensboro, NC (formally RFMD)

QORVO is the resulting global wireless semiconductor company from the merger of TriQuint and RFMD with 4 major fabs in the US and approximately $3B sales.

Director of Operations 2013 - 2016

Direct manufacturing operations for a 6” compound semiconductor fab. Fab supports a variety of GaAs HBT, FET, and BiHEMT processes technologies in scaled volumes as well as multiple GaN (3” & 6”) products primarily supplied to mobile, infrastructure, automotive, aerospace and defense industries.

• Responsible for >270 employees ranging from Direct Manufacturing; Equipment, Process and Yield Engineering; and Factory Logistics with an annual budget of $70-100M.

• Led lean manufacturing efforts resulting in over $20M reduction to annual operations costs through a variety of engineering improvements, waste reduction and operations efficiency techniques in support of corporate drive to push margins from mid-30% to over 50% in less than 18 months.

• Drive continuous improvement leading to world-class cycle times, wafer and die yields and production costs while delivering highly reliable products.

• Develop a high-performance team capable of effective multi-function problem solving and project management through leadership development, establishing a culture of respect and achievement and performance management.

BIC Graphic Corporation was a privately held, high volume, promotional products manufacturer with two factories operating in Clearwater, FL. Primary operations technologies were based upon injection and extrusion molding, high- speed assembly and custom printing.

Manufacturing Manager 1998 – 2000

• Managed high volume, ISO 9000 certified factory with a staff of over 225 employees running 24x7.

• Drove on-time delivery performance from 92% to over 99.5% and customer complaints from 2% of orders to less than 0.5% in two years.

• Developed comprehensive manufacturing planning system improving capacity, demand and inventory management.

AMP Inc. (Now Tyco Electronics – Connectivity) – Greensboro, NC AMP Inc. was a $3B electronic components manufacturing corporation employing approximately 35,000 employees worldwide. Primary operations technologies were based upon injection and extrusion molding, metal stamping, electroplated metals and high-speed assembly.

Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager 1994 – 1998

• Expanded from an initial staff of 22 people to over 110 during the four-year period while production sales grew from $5M to over $60M.

• Significantly improved manufacturing yields, costs and cycle times with reduced WIP inventory levels.

• Managed production operations across 3 shifts for a new automotive division during significant production ramp.

• Established job descriptions, staffing plans, budgets and production systems in this new division. Phenomenal BU growth necessitated the coordination of a factory move without a disruption in manufacturing output. Manufacturing Engineer 1989 – 1994
