FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS IN AUTOMOTIVE STRUCTURE DESIGN.

• Body and frame stiffness analysis.

The bending stiffness and the torsional stiffness are calculated of the given frame and load conditions are calculated. Both the stiffness is improved by 5% using HYPERMESH –Opti Struct

• Natural frequency and Normal mode analysis of vehicle structure. Conduct Normal Mode analysis, natural frequencies are calculated and frequency modes. Modification of structure to improve the first natural frequency by 1 Hz (HYPERMESH, HYPERVIEW)

ANALYSIS AND DESIGN FOR VEHICLE CRASHWORTHINESS.

• Frontal Crash Analysis of Full Crash vehicle

Simulate a full vehicle model under frontal crash at 56kph & compare the CAE simulation results with the actual crash results obtained from NHTSA database using LS-DYNA

• Analysis of vehicle response under the frontal crash test at 56kph. Comparison of the pulse and dynamic crash response between two models of Ford F-150 using NHTSA/IIHS database. Compare results with current NCAP regulations to meet vehicle crashworthiness performance requirement

• Crash response simulation for vehicle structure and occupant response simulation. Development and Analysis of vehicle and occupant responses under both frontal and side impacts after deployment of restraint system. Validation of model results, crash mechanisms, and time history plots using LS-DYNA, HYPERGRAPH

• Pedestrian Safety and crash estimation space under frontal crash. Development of head impactor model and hood for frontal crash test in LS DYNA, calculating HIC15 and HIC36 number for pedestrian for that crash event & calculating optimum amount of space required under the hood to avoid fatal injury

Benchmarking and determining primary design specs of target vehicle with the other competitors using PUGH DIAGRAM

Based on consumer demands and market survey, developed a business plan, sales projection of the target vehicle
