Director of Financial & Specialty Applications (1999-Present)

Manage staff of 35+ professionals, including 4 project managers with a staff of 7-8 each. Collaborate with C-level executives, administrators, and staff to create project plans and integrated systems for new technology initiatives.

Spearhead executive user contact project queue management, including all levels of project planning and execution.

Directed 16-month implementation of Oracle EBS, from initiating RFP process through live cutover. Modules included accounts payable, general ledger, project accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable inventory, purchasing, and sourcing. Completed project on time and under budget, managing five SMEs and two upgrades.

Managed creation of in-house-developed financial applications not supported by Oracle EBS, including stock ledger; textbook rental; and sales audit bank, credit card, gift card, and inventory reconciliations.

Oversaw PeopleSoft payroll and HR responsible for supporting 75,000 employees, including two major upgrades.

Led build for applications supporting new website launch, including sales processing, credit card reconciliation, invoice 3-way match function, and stock ledger; used Oracle EBS, C#, and SQL Server in dotnet environment.

Facilitated mainframe elimination by rewriting or re-platforming remaining applications.

Drove eight-month migration of all old website SAP financial processing to Oracle EBS. Completed on time and under budget, saving all SAP-related costs.

Managed in-house-developed systems for electronic data interchange, sales, newsstand, banking, legal, loyalty program, planning, and financial reporting.

Built system to support B&N's membership/loyalty program, integrating with website and all retail stores.

Directed 18-month project in conjunction with KPMG, implementing Oracle’s inventory and costing modules to track $2 billion in inventory, completing on schedule and under budget.

Implemented self-service portal in PeopleSoft, giving access to 40,000 employees.
