• To maintain respiratory monitoring sheet for all patients on mechanical ventilation changes in ventilator parameters to be done after consultation.

• Oxygen therapy devices (both fixed and variable performance devices).

• Airway maintenance (placement of artificial airways) and care of ICD tube, tracheostomy tubes and special airways.

• Bronchial hygiene therapy including aerosolized medication humidified medical gas therapy, steam inhalation, postural drainage, percussion, chest vibrations, deep breathing exercises, airway suctioning and artificial cough maneuvers.

• Bronchodilator therapy (nebulizers, meter dose inhalers and Ultrasonic nebulizers) to provide nebulization and inhaler therapy for ventilated and non-ventilated patients.

• Principles and use of the pulse oximeter, capnometer, oxygen analyzer, defibrillator.

• Basic and advanced cardio pulmonary resuscitation and to assist the duty doctor during CPR of patients in the ICU or elsewhere in the hospital on activation of code blue.

• Educate patients & families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises and the use of medications and respiratory equipments.

• Attended workshop on Polysomnography conducted by Department of Respiratory Therapy, MCOAHS, Manipal from 25th to 27th February 2011.
