Kumar Auto Sales(Classique) as a Design Engineer - (August 2014- Till date)

-Classique is a brand leader in exterior auto accessories manufacturer for our main OEM clients ‘Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Honda . We also provide our services in after market wherein we provide a large variety of products for various car brands like :MARUTI,TATA,TOYOTA,RENAULT,HYUNDAI .

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Proficient in 3D CAD System softwares : Catia V5, Autocad to produce 2-D, 3-D designs using threads like Part Design, Generative Sheet metal design, Wireframe and Surface Design, Assembly Design, Drafting (Drawing) & Detailing(BOM), for manufacturing (Front,Rear,Side) guards, Luggage Carriers, Spoiler,Dies and their respective child parts/Brackets for OEMs I .e Mahindra,Honda and after market .

Used software Fast Cam, Fast Nest to generate the G-Codes, N-Codes for cutting profiles on Mild Steel (M.S), Stainless Steel (S.S) sheets as per the design requirement with the help of CNC Plasma Cutting Machine. Also operated the CNC Plasma Cutting Machine.Used Fast Plot, Nest to analyze, estimate and minimize scrap/wastage of the raw materials thereby reducing the cost of the design requirements of various projects.

Implementation of GD&T concepts and application on the drawing detailing.

Execution n delivery from scratch to delivery of product as per the specification technical drawing provided by various car brands for different car

guard’s variants.

Apply Value Engineering(making use of the available raw material),Reverse Engineering for reducing cost of the product as per the design feasibility.

Handling a Design Department, guiding and solving all the hindrances occurring simultaneously in the projects in order to keep up with the fast paced work environment and deliver projects in scheduled time limit.Also assigned with the task of checking the design made by trainees and approving the same.

Development of Jig & fixtures for the optimum production & Quality improvement after confirmation of the final sample.

Preparing BOM and Coordinating for the selection of suitable material for various component to meet design reliability and minimize the usage /cost of raw material to get the desired result .

Active member of special Development team and Continuous Improvement Team.

Developing the conceptual design, rendering of new guards for (MAHINDRA) as per the CAD data provided by the Mahindra & Mahindra.

Went for onsite development to Mahindra & Mahindra,Mumbai for the development and fitment of the P107 Mahindra Pick-up Truck exterior accessories project.

Went for onsite development to Mahindra & Mahindra, Chennai,Research Valley for the development and fitment of the Maximo Mini Van, Supro, TUV 300 exterior accessories project.

Went Bangalore for the development and fitment of Renault Lodgey exterior accessories project.

Went Kerala to resolve the problems/issues/queries of the customers related to Innova Crysta Side Guard and providing them with the total customer satisfaction.

Went Pune for the understanding the installation requirements,procedure and working/operation of the PU(Polyurethanes) Machine for our company. Involved in installation and resolving all the starting issues and taking the project further to get the final finished product (PU rear and front guards) at our company.

Understanding the project requirements as mentioned in the monthly order, check availability of the raw materials,

Provide the Design Output Documents (Document Issue records) as per the project schedule and targets set by the superiors.

Understand the underlying principles, techniques procedures (design) and convey /make the operator understand the manufacturing and assembly requirements as per the given design documents .

Handling the inward and final material quality checkup and making action plan (if required) .

Arranging the meetings with supervisors, workers for maintaining the 5S in and around the production floor specially in their respective working areas .

Generate concept design& modification in design as per the changes occurred while making brackets,guards for new vehicle or to bring out new concepts to replace the old design concepts.

To check and analyze the new product from starting, development and end user stage

Inform the tool-room about the parts and respective die requirement.

Initiate discussion with raw material supplier to put forward all technical requirements of the OEMs i.e Mahindra,Honda.

Coordinating with purchase, raw material section for availability of raw materials required for the new development projects.

To design and modify existing brackets as per the modifications occurred in the chassis of the vehicle .

To do the feasibility study as per the design requirements. Making use of the available raw materials for fulfillment of the design requirement .

Prepare documentation for ISO Systems like Quality control, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P) company standards and guideline documents.

At company premises, design the product to meet customer requirement and translating the design model to actual final product.

Participated in Amazer,Robopursuit – Robot Racing Competitions, 2009.

Participated in Terranout – A Robot Building Competition, 2010.

Organized event “Wheels on fire ‘’ held during college technical festival.

Volunteered Literary Event Secretary in Association of Automobile Engineering Students during the year 2011-12.

Won 1st prize in events, 100 Meters, and 200 Meters athletic events at St. Xavier’s School.
