Project 1: Using a BCI (Brain Control Interface), designed a system to wirelessly control the movement of a robot using brainwaves (NASA Research Grant)
Project 2: Designed and prototyped a patentable vacuum system and attachment for the removal of tonsil stones
Project 3: Using level sensors and a pump controller, performed calibrations on a coupled-tank system and analyzed the data using knowledge of Six Sigma methods for efficiency
Project 4: Using an op-amp, instrumentation amp, and National Instrument’s software, designed and built an ECG (electro-cardiogram) that uses a three-lead system to monitor blood pressure

This was a poster project that was presented at the NC Academy of Science and was published in an N.C. Science Journal.
Duties: Extensive lab use of micro-pipetting, thermo-cycling, gel electrophoresis, and aseptic techniques. DNA data was analyzed using Clustal X software and research uploaded to Genbank. Aseptic techniques, lab protocol and safe and appropriate handling of hazardous materials was maintained always, during the project
