Innovative solutions that helped clients substantially In addition to my role in projects, I always try to provide solutions that can help business substantially in terms of time and money. The following are my individual contributions which were appreciated by clients.
Created windows batch scripts for U.S based insurer to monitor financial escalation which runs for 3 to 4 hours, daily. These batch scripts monitor the log files, every 5 mins and generate an updated report of failed transactions.
Developed a Gosu-based developer tool that can generate entity builder classes, based on the latest datamodel. The code generates the classes in just 2 minutes, which otherwise would have taken around 40 man-days of effort.

Role: Sr. Guidewire developer, offshore configuration team lead This project was aimed at replacing legacy Policy Administration System of one of the largest and oldest commercial lines insurer based in the US. Responsibility:
• Using Gosu, Guidewire’s open source language, to configure the Guidewire products to solve customer business challenges as a configuration and implementation resource
• Consulting with insurance carrier business and technical resources to produce business requirements and functional design documents as a functional resource
• Partnering with client business teams to understand business objectives and integration requirements using both business and technical skills

This project is being built as part of Capgemini’s Insurance Connect, a pre-configured Guidewire solution for small to mid-sized carriers to provide increased speed to market, create operating efficiencies and reduce cost and risk of entry.

Role: Guidewire developer
The client is UK’s largest insurer. This project was aimed at replacing its existing claims and policy systems with Guidewire applications that would help streamline its underwriting, policy administration, and claims management operations for its UK general insurance operations. Responsibility:
• To lead a team of 9 Guidewire developers.
• To develop business rules those involve complex logic.
• To develop Gosu classes, Java classes and entity enhancements to support business rules.
• To design and develop Guidewire user interface (UI) using PCFs.
• To review performance, accuracy and standards of the code developed by team members.
• To configure XMLs like search-config.xml to implement ‘contains search’ functionality and entity-role-constarints.xml to restrict the roles of an involved party based on the related entity.

The client is one of the largest insurers in the USA, involved in property and casualty insurance. The automation of claims system has been achieved using one of the products of Guidewire called ClaimCenter. ClaimCenter is an application designed to manage the process of reporting, verifying, and making payments on claims against a policy, according to policy rules. ClaimCenter is a browser-based application that supports multiple users like customer care representatives, adjusters and supervisors to handle the claims processing. Responsibility:
• To develop business rules using Gosu and Java.
• To design and develop Guidewire user interface (UI) using PCFs.
• To fix the defects that resulted in the upgrade of ClaimCenter from version 4.0.4 to version 6.0.2.
