I have a huge interest in different cultures, languages and countries, and have visited France, where I lived for 1 year, teaching English to French students, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Sweden, India and Egypt. I moved to Cairo in March 2016, and have absorbed its culture and history and become fascinated by its unique magical charm. A great deal of my spare time is spent on indulging in my love of literature, reading and writing; I also have a passion for fitness and for physical and mental wellb eing. I am a keen swimmer, runner and practise yoga. I have qualified as a fitness instructor and sports massage.

Patient Care Advisor
Brighton and Hove Integrated Care Service( NHS)
The primary part of my job was to actively manage patients through care pathways and provide clinicians with all necessary notes prior to specific clinics
I answered calls from patients promptly and effectively, answering their queries, providing advice and booking their hospital appointments. As well as the essential skills of word processing, filing, audio typing, touch typing, photocopying, faxing, using email and composition of letters, I also distribute post, maintain and update patients' files and take messages for Clinicians and other non clinical staff; I am also experienced in the more sensitive aspects the role requires, such as dealing with distressed patients with sensitivity and discretion, and I have attended workshops on how to deal with abusive phone calls.

GP Medical Secretary for Sackville Road Medical Practice, Brighton
I provided a complete, full clerical, administrative and secretarial service including word processing, filing, audio typing, touch typing, photocopying, faxing and composition of letters to the four GPs of the practice. I arranged meetings/appointments, liaised with other GP surgeries, Primary Care Trusts, hospitals, patients and their carers', managers, outpatients and many other departments; updating patient records with results and current contact information; being polite, diplomatic, reassuring and using discretion when responding to telephone enquiries from patients.

Course Secretary/Administrator for MSC in Police and Criminology, University of Portsmouth
I provided full administrative support to the academics of this course. I had a great deal of interaction and communication with students, assisting in the process of their applications, registering them on to the course, maintaining their records electronically and manually. I was a point of contact for all student enquiries relating to the course, and communicated both on the telephone and face to face with them on a regular basis, building a relationship with them. I received students' assignments, entering them onto the system and passing them to the relevant teaching staff. I was aware of the protocol around students' confidentiality, both with regard to their personal details and their academic records. I assisted with the organising and running of weekend seminars and workshops, booking rooms as required, coo rdinating of material and collating necessary information, as well as greeting and welcoming students in person and ensuring their needs are met.
January 1985 – August 1985
Legal Secretary at Mackarness & Lunt Solicitors, High Street, Petersfield
