PROJECTS

Blade Element Momentum Theory (BEM) for Wind Turbine Blade Analysis Formulated an algorithm for stress analysis on wind turbine based on BEM theory and implemented it in Matlab. Parametrically modelled a turbine in Creo to be used along with the results of algorithm as inputs in FEA. Analyzed aerodynamic design and efficiency of the turbine airfoil using Xfoil software package Sensing, Control and Navigation Framework to build an intelligent robot. Interfaced sensors on a custom-built robot and developed accurate algorithms for successful maze travel within least possible time. Built a graphical Matlab interface to map the robot’s surrounding using ultrasonic and infrared sensors. Design and development of a TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) implant Collaborated with a team of biomedical engineers to design a TMJ implant, for FDA approval by 510(k) regulation, right from concept generation and material selection to manufacturing, packaging and sterilization. The implant was modelled in Solidworks and rapid prototyped using a 3D printer. Stress analysis was performed using Ansys. Design and Development of a Sub Assembly for Special Purpose Machine. Designed and manufactured the fixture assembly and successfully tested to improve productivity by 135%. Incorporated a hydraulic automated fixture in assembly. Used Solidworks and AutoCAD for solid modelling and production designs with GD&T. ANKIT KARWA
