To whom it may concern,
I am writing today to express my interested in an opening for employment with AeroTEC. As a recent college graduate, I have been searching for my first job to begin my career as an engineer and I believe that AeroTEC is an excellent fit. In addition, I would like to note that I am currently unattached, so rotating locations and/or relocation a re not a problem; in fact, they are welcome.
My education and experiences have fortified my understanding that problem solving is paramount to being a successful engineer; simply put, it’s what we do. One of my best qualities as an engineer is my ability to anticipate, isolate, and identify problems. I am a quick learner, a proficient teammate, detail oriented, and mindful of big picture objectives. This particular combination allows me to collaborate effectively to help solve problems in a direct, innovative, and efficient manner. But finding solutions to problems and creating new designs are only useful if they can be realized and it is in this particular aspect of engineering is where I have separated myself from the majority of my peers.
Throughout my years as an undergraduate student, I paralleled my education in design and analysis with practice in fabrication, finishing my bachelor’s degree with more than 35 credit hours above the minimum requirement . As you would expect, I have experience in drafting, programming, analysis, design, and optimization. However, I also have substantial experience in welding, machining, metalworking, composite fabrication, casting, finishing, and so on, and have acquired a more significant, hands-on understanding of fabrication. These extra disciplines, many of which I have been practicing since I was a child, have helped me to become a better engineer.
In December of 2014, I completed the mechanical engineering program at Montana State University where I received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in aerospace. I believe that my experiences have provided me with knowledge and ski lls well suited for the work at AeroTEC. My experience there would undoubtedly become an integral and invaluable part of my engineering career, but it would also afford me the opportunity, and the means, to further my education in the engineering field, bo th on and off the job. As an engineer, I have always looked for the optimal solution; the arrangement that offers the greatest benefit with the least detriment. The opportunities AeroTEC provides are exactly that. I am eager for a challenge and a chance to improve myself both as an engineer and as a professional team member, and I look forward to the opportunity to help further the success of my colleagues and AeroTEC as a whole.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Sincerely,
Adam C. Smith
