Contractor for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in support of AJW-173 Voice switching project part of the National Airspace System.

Network Architect/Engineer

Technical design and support for Voice switching and Air Traffic control tower clients across the FAA operational, (FTI) National Test Bed (FNTB) National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Security Gateway (NESG) organization. Creating virtual machine’s to keep using older control and maintenance software on newer computer hardware. Working with the TDM to IP analog conversion projects in the voice switch engineering group. The list of software and hardware products used including Hyper-V on both Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2 along with Cisco and Dell router and layer two and three switch network hardware. Provide on-site support in the area of network implementation and administration.

Brought on to design and supervise a greenfield project for the Department’s network infrastructure supporting operations at 25 branch offices located in 77 Oklahoma counties. Installed and maintained a range of data networks, Juniper NetScreen firewalls, servers, NetApp SANs, and other software and hardware. Project leader for a major security overhaul and upgrade project.

Led a $5M computer replacement project involving design and setup of a new mirrored data center with 50 Dell servers, 10 terabyte NetApp SAN, 35+ Cisco and Extreme switches, and 20+ Juniper NetScreen firewalls.

Tasked by Department leaders to establish a temporary data center during a wildfire emergency. Successfully ran the Department’s IT needs from State Fairgrounds helping to coordinate thousands of firemen and emergency resources.

Oklahoma Boll Weevil Eradication Organization – Hobart, Oklahoma 1998 to 2002

Tasked with developing, implementing, and managing a greenfield state-wide network capable of tracking the distribution of Boll Weevils in Oklahoma and coordinating pest-control responses to mitigate damage to the state’s critical cotton crops. Joined organization as one of its first employees, taking on responsibility for procuring, installing, and networking all hardware, software, and support resources. Coordinated with a long list of state and federal resources during course of project, including the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and NASA to gather the necessary satellite imagery.

Championed development of one of the most complex and advanced Geographic Information System projects in the state’s history with 500 eventual end users and capability to coordinate dozens of airplane pesticide sprayers in real time according to insect distributions and weather conditions.
