Implemented the Data Architecture project that aimed to move the existing applications from VSAM file data architecture to DB2 data architecture. Developed various components in the program module that allows the Insurance application to access data from the VSAM files while at the same time enabling DB2 access in a consistent manner in both a batch and CICS environment. The corresponding VSAM data services module for each application program was identified and made to access the VSAM or DB2 using Data Access Control Switch (DACS). The switch can be set to make the call VSAM, DB2 or both.
