CAIRO UNIVERSITY, EGYPT Aug 2007

Master of Science in Engineering, Public Works

Honors: Second among class.

Thesis Project: I addressed an issue that was highly underseen; collecting data for traffic and transportation accidents. Designed two modules, the first one was a mobile module that gets installed on handheld devices using java script and ESRI’s ArcPAD. This module was designed to enforce accurate location and various other input data before submitting a traffic accident record. Data is also encrypted. The second module was created using VB, and is an office module that is capable of automatically uploading all the files containing accident records and conducting analysis on them using GIS to identify high patter areas. The implementation of this project would increase efficiency of collecting data significantly and support the proper post-collection analysis.

The module is also capable of calculating the transportation time between the airport and each attraction for those visitors that are only in the airport for transit. This application was designed in 2005 before Google Maps navigation. I presented the project in August 2005 at the ESRI User Conference in San Diego, CA. CAIRO UNIVERISTY, EGYPT Aug 2003
