1992 to 1994 Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Graham-Field, Inc., Hauppauge N.Y. Customized and installed: an ERP/MRP II and DRP multi-plant and multi-warehouse manufacturing, distribution, and accounting system; an automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) creating a paperless environment using RF terminals, computer-controlled conveyors, barcoding, wave picking, and cross-docking; EDI with customers and vendors; client/server applications. Served as Project Manager utilizing project management methodologies and managing internal staff and external contractors using project management software and CASE development tools. Position eliminated in company reorganization.

1991 to 1992 Systems and Management Consultant at Cap Gemini America in analyzing client business and systems’ needs, developing plans and schedules to satisfy those needs, advising management during the implementation of these plans, staffing and hiring a project team to complete the work planned, and serving as Senior Project Manager on some projects while supervising project managers on other projects.

1985 to 1991 Vice President and General Manager at HG Industries, Inc., Long Beach, N.Y. Managed company finances and operations serving as both CFO and COO with full P & L responsibility. Promoted after one year from MIS (IT) Director position. Developed business strategies responsible for the doubling of revenue and greatly increased profitability in the first two years employed, in turning around this company which had reduced sales and a financial loss for the year before I was hired. Duties included: departmental planning, staffing, and performance evaluations; selection and installation of new software and hardware for new WMS and ERP/MRP II systems; development of internal procedures and controls; and preparation, review, and approval of all company financial budgets.

Obtained financing for major company projects through long term leasing and state Government Economic and Industrial Development bond issues. Raised cash via licensing and franchises, lines of credit, and sell/lease back agreements on capital equipment. Served as the project manager in the design, construction, and implementation of a new 300,000 sq. ft. factory and negotiated the arrangements with the architects, contractors, engineers, and other parties, and supervised all construction, resulting in moving all operations under one roof with resulting cost reductions and operational efficiencies. Utilized industrial engineering concepts to further achieve efficiencies. Installed paperless Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems with customers and vendors. Developed executive decision support systems to evaluate company operational and financial performance. Reason for leaving: company sold and liquidated.
