Manufacturing Engineering Intern May 2016 - August 2016

Contributed to an idea change and executed it – an original Kaizen Event, to open 700 sq. ft. of space in the assembly area and transfer the assembly assets to Reynosa, Mexico.

Shouldered the responsibility of providing video support of 120 different assemblies to the operations team –situated in Reynosa, Mexico.

Led a tool assessment and redesign project to conclude that a setting of 3-5 inch/lb. was perfect to prevent leakages. Also, implemented a 2-bin inventory control system to reduce significant non-value added movement and provide uninterrupted production.

Fashioned several work instructions and conducted a Job Hazard Analysis to build a 100% ergonomically safe assembly process and conforms to the SQDC principles.

Devised a standardized work template to initiate an efficient assembly validation that would follow per the validation flow chart created by the cross functional manufacturing/operations team.

Performed a Time Study for the various assembly processes to minimize process waste and increase the daily production output from 3 to 5 assembled units/day.

Conducted a survey to assess mental and physical workload faced by an on-site employee in the site to store department, an intervention was proposed to create an ergonomically safe and efficient work environment.

DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF A JET WIND TURBINE, Mumbai University, 2014-15

Crafted and tested a prototype model consisting of a 250mm rotor diameter with 4 stators and 9 to 10 m/secs of air speed that produces a power of 40 watts i.e. four times more efficient energy conversion than the standard turbine.
