CFD-CAE Engineer 06/16-present

Develop system modeling for automatic transmission main control hydraulics and analyze driveline dynamics. This is to deliver analytical calibrations for the transmission and engine systems to meet all corporate, legal, program, timing, and quality goals.

Conduct model correlations and system functionality verification per driveline test procedure. This is to identify new tools and methods for improving efficiency and/or quality of analytical calibration development.

Perform parameter optimization for system robust design. This provides new opportunities to reduce vehicle development time through increased CAE testing.

Analyze cooler, lube and pump flow demand, and sensitivity of control orifices.

Perform 1D hydraulic system model to design spool valves, solenoids, hydraulic control flow circuits, pumps and clutches, and for system vibrational analyses.

Identify limitations of hydraulic control system model and develop new and innovative approaches to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Engage in failure mode and root cause analyses to support design rule creations.

Collaborate with research and development team to create new CAE based calibration methodologies.

Bureau of Economic Geology, Austin, TX 05/14-06/16

Simulation Engineer

Model detailed corrosion behavior of well bores to analyze mechanical integrity based on non-isothermal hydraulics.

Model non-isothermal 1D hydraulic flow behavior in on- and off-shore injection and production wells.

Lead a project to show pressure-based Inversion techniques for detecting fluid leakage.

Design lab experiments to study leakage profile from porous formations.

Solved pressure and geochemical responses of CO2 injection into oil and gas reservoirs.

Developed multiphase flow and reactive transport model for conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

Center for Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering, UT Austin, TX 01/13-04/14

Simulation Engineer

Formulated an Equation-of-State of hydrocarbon fluids confined in tight shale reservoirs.

Modeled gas phase equilibrium properties, and gas productions from Haynesville shale.

Investigated slippage effect in gas flow through tight shale reservoirs.

Developed time efficient algorithms of phase equilibrium computations for CFD simulations.

Directed solutions of geochemical reaction problems in low salinity CO2- and Water-flooding.

Managed version control of compositional petroleum reservoir simulators, namely UTCOMP/UTCHEM.

Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Alabama, AL 05/10-12/12

Research Assistant

Developed simulation framework for sequestration of CO2 for Citronelle oil field in the Rodessa Formation.

Formulated new viscosity models of brine solutions with dissolved CO2.

Assessed petroleum well flow models and their impacts on numerical reservoir simulation.

Prepared lecture notes and discussion handouts, designed exam problems and graded final projects.

Department of Chemical Engineering, North Carolina A&T State University, NC 01/07-08/09

Research Assistant

Modeled kinetic diffusion property of solids absorption-desorption reactions.

Developed a universal phase equilibrium model for liquid-liquid systems.
