Achieved many savings for the client by appraising submitted tenders and negotiating with framework contractors to reduce tender prices leading to lower contract award values.
Enabled the client to control overall spend more effectively by providing accurate cost estimates for many re-active & planned projects on water and waste water treatment plants. Using a combination of unit cost databases and first principles estimating to create prices for projects ranging from new build to repair and maintenance of process structures such as settlement tanks, many types of filters, UV plants, grit treatment facilities, pipe work, sludge treatment facilities, pumps and other mechanical equipment, instrumentation, flow meters, car parks, internal roads, large concrete bases and many other items and assets.
Utilised a comprehensive cost capture strategy for all past and future projects, allowing the business to justify spend to the regulators and to be more confident with future tender submissions from contractors.
Maintained databases of cost information and provided reports to allow the business to monitor and execute effectively on-going programs of work.

Interests
I enjoy going for walks or hiking in the countryside, cycling, fishing, camping and generally promoting sport and other activities. I keep fit mainly with running and some time in the gym. I love learning new software in my spare time such as Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator and creating interesting images, as well as doing puzzles and brain training types of games. I have played the guitar for many years and sometimes write songs.
