Samsung Heavy Industries, Nigeria June 2014 – Till Date Project Quality Manager

Egina OML 130 Deep Water (1550m) FPSO Project ($3.8 billion contract sum): This development operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria, includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties to Akpo export pipeline to Amenem. Production is 200 kBPD of oil, 456 kBPD of water and 4.6 Mm3/d of gas export. Achieved Responsibilities include:

Detailed Engineering: Ensure that FEED deliverables fully reflect QA/QC requirements of the applicable codes, standards and other guidelines, including in country and other international standards by providing quality assurance and controls to the Detailed Design, Procurement and Construction teams.

Actively participate in all FMEA, HAZID and HAZOP workshops, ensuring early identification of hazard, threats and design deficiencies and propose possible preventive and mitigation plans.

Oversee all Engineering, Procurements, Construction, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities, ensure adherence to Project Specification, Codes and applicable Standards. This is to ensure that at all Project Execution Phases; Quality Assurance/Controls is given the right and adequate attention.

Perform technical review of Detail Engineering Designs, review mechanical data sheets of packages, material take off

(MTO), and material test certificates. Provide maintenance recommendations and activity support, prepare repair work scopes for static equipment and piping systems in line with expected standards and associated inspection plans. Recommend repair procedures including, welding procedures, alternate materials selection etc.

Carry out visual inspection on pressure systems (piping, vessels and valves), topside structure and hull (structures, paintwork, gratings, guardrails, ladders, piping, etc.).

Carry out Integrity Engineering Audit to ensure legal compliance with Company, National and International standards and ensure that there is a level of Quality Assurance within the process that meets good engineering standards.

Performed Thickness Evaluations, determine Maximum Allowable Working Pressure, Minimum Required Thickness, Remaining Life Calculations, as well as Remaining Corrosion Allowance.
