PROJECTS

Design & Analysis of Hairator: Chicago, IL April 2017

Innovated and designed ‘Hairator’ device on SolidWorks, as part of a project for rapid prototyping.

The product performed the function of removing excess hair on the skin or clothes after a haircut by using electrostatic force.

Performed thermal analysis on the design in SolidWorks, for different materials, to find best suitable materials to 3D print the product.

Learned valuable lessons in what challenges occur while designing a product for additive manufacturing and tackled the problems effectively. Dynamic & Finite Element Analysis of an Excavator Arm: Chicago, IL December 2016

Successfully developed a simulation on MATLAB to determine the stresses generated in an excavator’s arm during stacking operation to test its safety.

Performed the forward dynamics to calculate the time history of the system during the operation, subsequently conducting inverse dynamics on the stick to determine the internal forces generated.

Entered the required variables to complete the simulation, upon running the simulation the design of the arm was found to be safe. Design & Fabrication of Vertical Axis Wind Turbine: Nashik, India February 2015

Executed design, assembly, manufacturing and testing of a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine prototype.

Designed parts involved on PTC Creo to get an idea of assembly and made changes accordingly to the assembly for ergonomics & aesthetics.

Customized the design of the VAWT resulting in the weight reduction of rotor shaft by 32% and thus reduced material cost. INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Project Intern May 2015-July 2015

Mahindra Group – Igatpuri, India

Assisted the cross-functional team overseeing the selection of OEM to produce Rocker Arm sub-assembly used in the MDi engine.

Conducted PFMEA of the manufacturing processes at the vendor end to ensure desired production capacity with reliability was met.

Completion of the project resulted in savings of 80 cents per part, by selecting the OEM with low labor cost and easy access to raw materials.

Outsourcing the assembly process resulted in cash flow of $60,000 with floor space savings and overall inventory was reduced. CERTIFICATIONS
