Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate to foreman or supervisor according to layouts.

Preparation of tools and materials to be needed in welding and safety equipment

Preparation of pipe such as cutting and V-belling, using oxyacetylene and power tools

Proper fit-up of joint using welding for tacking

Cleaning the joint of pipe using grinder

Perform root pass with complete penetration

Perform cleaning of weld using grinder and removing foreign materials in the weld

Perform filling pass and capping

Cleaning the weld by removing the flux using cheaping hammer and steel brass

Inspect the welding if there’s a defect such as undercut, corrosion, pinhole, etc.

If there’s a defect in the weld perform repair of the weld part.
