Engineering Lead in charge of the design of the Spacesuit Water Membrane Evaporator (SWME) payload experiment, for development of the next generation spacesuit and heat rejection systems for Orion, Moon and Mars missions.

CAMERON INTERNATIONAL, Houston, TX 2013 – 2016

Principal Mechanical Engineer

Engineer in charge of Cameron EVO BlowOut Preventer (BOP) product line sustaining engineering task. Reviewer and approver of API calculations, design files and technical dwgs for the BOP group.

Revised and improved components for TL and EVO BOP product lines which resulted in fewer issues and higher reliability of both product lines.

Discovered and proposed design changes that improved lock reliability and quality of the assemblies by rigorous review of BOP locking system components.

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for payloads, tools, crew equipment and life support equipment. Reviewer and approver of technical design work, dwgs., prototypes and test fixtures. Lead Engineer for US Air Force Payload development related to electronic surveillance.

Co-led Mechanical Engineering design (12 person team) of a Rapid Cycle Amine Swingbed payload that currently provides life support backup in the ISS in case of a main Air System failure.

Led Mechanical Engineering (9-person) team to develop Potable Water (PWD) Systems, providing meal preparation to the ISS crews for over 8 years.

Expanded capabilities, reduced maintenance and equipment failures by provided technical design and review support for ISS Crew Equipment such as TVIS, TRAD, IRED, ARED (exercise equipment), Wardroom Table, EVA tools, Water transfer and other IVA projects, Mars-Moon Rover Trash and Waste Management Compartment.

Designed electronic enclosures and carried out Electronics Packaging in support of the US Air Force B-57 Halo Red surveillance program active in the Middle East, providing tactical military information.

Expanded capabilities of the NASA Super Guppy Transport and G-3 Crew Return Aircraft by delivering design solutions to the NASA Airborne Ops. Division.

KBR-WYLE, Houston, TX 1998 – 2005

Senior Lead Design Engineer

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Biotechnology Payloads, Lab and Research Equipment for Biotechnology experiments and Cell Science Research. Reviewer and approver of technical work.

Led engineering team (4 person) in development of high-precision, electronically cooled Biotechnology Refrigerator (BTR), resulting in successful Cell Science Missions flown in Space Shuttle and ISS.

Carried out performance testing of devices and hardware related to incubation, preservation and sterilization systems used in preservation and growth cells, improving study outcomes and lowering failure rates.

Designed and developed concept into working prototype for system that filtered, purified and mixed fluid media for human research and intravenous solutions for long duration flights, providing NASA with additional capability to sustain crew for extended duration flights.

Created a sterilizer system to aid in disinfection of biotechnology hardware used in cell science experimentation, leading to better cell science studies.
