2015 - 2016 Executive Director - Kilmarnock, VA

• Managed and directed daily operations of 80 bed Assisted Living and 37 bed Memory Support community. Responsible for management of department directors, budgets and projects.

• Operated community above census targets throughout employment, achieving corporate incentive targets for 4th quarter 2015 and 1st quarter 2016 of greater than 97% occupancy.

• Developed Marketing techniques for new lead generation by working with community hospital to enhance geriatric mental health outpatient services access; Bridges at Rappahamnonock General Hospital

• Offered "Virtual" Dementia Tour training to community providers, families, residents and staff.

• Instituted Dining Delights program theme nights, Around the World activity programming, and began using SMILE technology integration

The Orchard, Riverside Health System

2004 -2011 Administrator - Warsaw, VA

Directed operations of a 120 bed, multi-level facility that included skilled nursing and rehabilitation, specialized memory support and assisted living.

Awarded 2 deficiency-free surveys in our nursing facility, also obtained two consecutive 3 year licenses in our assisted living as a direct result of exceptional

performance and quality care provided to our residents.

Organized and executed a complete licensure change (from licensed assisted living to skilled nursing) in the memory support area in 2008, resulting in an overall occupancy percentage increase from 60% to 95%-100% for the three years following the transition.

Increased Medicare volumes and optimized reimbursement to exceed facility revenue budget in 2010.

Maintained a lower than average turnover rate for staff, creating greater stability and consistency among our direct caregivers. Also successfully implemented permanent assignments for our Certified Nursing Assistants.

Implemented, in coordination with Nursing Leadership, a self-scheduling model for all nursing staff to encourage greater responsibility and a sense of ownership within the nursing team.

Patriots Colony at Williamsburg, Riverside Health System

2002 – 2004 Assistant Administrator - Williamsburg, VA

Organized and attained facility licensure for 60 Medicare skilled nursing beds, allowing for greater services for the CCRC residents and opened up new revenue resources for the facility.

Reorganized staffing model eliminated costly staffing expenses and secured stable Nursing Leadership.

Received 2 deficiency-free surveys and maintained 3 year licensure in assisted living.

Participated in the process of building a $3 million addition to the assisted living facility, working closely with contractor and coordinating facility resources to orchestrate the opening and occupation of the building once complete.

Provided education and guidance to the members of the remainder of the Retirement Community about available resources, Medicare benefits available to them and served as the Health Services Representative on the Independent Living Resident Council.

Assisted in establishing a marketing and development plan to reach out to community residents to expand referral resources.

1999 – 2002 Assistant Administrator/Administrator in Training

Successfully completed 3,180 Administrator-in-Training program, working in over 13 facilities within the company. Performed each vocation within the facilities to further my skill set and understanding of each department and their interdependence on one another.

I became a Certified Nursing Assistant, attended the VHCA Activities Professional training, and assisted various facilities within the MFA network of locations to provide staff and/or management coverage in times of need.

Successfully obtained but State and Federal licenses after completing the training and went on to work as an Assistant Administrator for a 180 bed facility in Norfolk.

Managed the Dietary, Housekeeping, Admissions, and Medical Records departments while working in that capacity. Assisting the management of each department to streamline work processes and to minimize cost, while improving the level of quality their departments provided.
