I was the media spokesperson responsible for all media interaction working with all local radio and television networks. I coordinated media news conferences and attended all media events in order to generate public support for the 10-program community action agency. I produced news releases and short stories for publication with various news media and via the internet. Designed wrote and edited fact sheets, newsletters, brochures, rack cards and the annual report. Assisted with a $7.2 million solicitation kit and fund development coordination planning. I created story boards and displays for public events. Established and maintained and electronic mailing list for distribution of printed martial, including the EOP’s first-ever newsletter “The Elmira Express,” which I designed and wrote. I was in charge of trafficking website mail and providing quick responses to e-mailed questions pertaining to the agency and its programs.

I participated in public speaking engagements to promote EOP’S mission, programs and capital campaign. Trained and supervised staff that assisted the Public Relations Department.

Accomplishments: Enhanced EOP’s public image by taking the agency’s 10 progams and branded them under one agency logo. Created the agency’s first newsletter, which was distributed in-house and mailed to more than 3,000 local and national households. Coordinated with the capital campaign advisor and fund development director to create a capitol campaign solicitation kit and case for support for the $7.2 million Ernie Davis Capitol Campaign. Also ran a successful United Way Campaign that raised more than $6,000, the highest amount ever recorded raised by that agency’s employees.
