My name is Don Brockway and I have enjoyed a career in the field of human resources for about a decade. I started my career in sales and promoted up through the organization over a seventeen year period. I have supervised employees directly, managed Managers, and directed a division of employees. As my career progressed, I realized a passion for the people side of the business. As a Recruiting/Human Resource Manager, I had the opportunity to hire, train, and support employees while they grew upward within the organization. I have realized over the years how important people are in every aspect of life.

Over the past few years, I took the opportunity to spend time with the most influential person in my life, my father. My father was diagnosed with bladder cancer a few years ago and required home assistance. I seized the chance to be there for him and provide for him the support he has given me my entire life. It was the most important thing I have done in my life. Well that, and raise a child of my own. My father lost his battle with cancer last year and without any regrets, I am now ready to get back to meaningful work.

I just wanted to take a moment and explain how I have been spending my time since my last full-time assignment.

During that time, I also managed to maintain current and relevant knowledge of H.R. activities by doing some part time, ongoing consulting for a small family business.
