Operations Management

FilmHouse Manager: San Francisco Film Society (SFFS), 2017 Principal duties:

• Be operational and point person with building owners, GSI management, construction crews, cleaning crew, Sonic (internet service) and any contractors or vendors needed to build out and/or maintain tech and IT

• Serve as initial point of contact for information about the program via phone, e-mail and in-person queries from prospective applicants, as well as FilmHouse Orientation for Residents and visiting Grantees and Fellows

• Provide all administrative and operational support to the program including contracts, deposits, membership coordination, reporting and emailing with current residents

• Coordinate events at FilmHouse, including: bi-weekly Production Meetings, bi-weekly Guest Speakers/Artist Talks and additional Talks during SFFILM Festival, FilmHouse Open Houses and large public receptions, periodic SFFS programming (Doc Congress, Essential SF), Filmmaker Salon screenings, Peer to Peer Workshops, Script Reading series, additional lunches, receptions and parties at FilmHouse

• Serve as point of programmatic contact for FilmHouse X, the SFFILM affiliated space next door to FilmHouse. This includes promotion of SFFILM programs and FilmHouse events to tenants, handling of invitations and RSVPs and, along with Director of Artist Development, promotion of space and vetting of potential tenants

Theater Operations (TOPS) Manager: San Francisco International Film Festival, 2015-2016 The Theater Operations department is responsible for the management of staff and customer service for all exhibition spaces. This includes determining staffing and volunteer needs for a variety of venues and event presentation styles, as well as hiring, training and managing staff and volunteers to execute these plans. The Theater Operations Manager manages two full-time Festival Assistants, and two dozen hourly House Managers, as well as overseeing the training and management of upwards of three-hundred volunteers. This role sets the tone for the customer experience and is responsible for maintaining consistency and high standards in all exhibition–venue customer interactions. Principal duties:

• Hire Theater Operations staff and House Managers

• Schedule, train and manage all Theater Operations staff and House and Floor Managers

• Schedule and manage all Theater Operations volunteers

• Work with Talent & Events Producer to ensure smooth show and talent flow for all big nights

• Work with Box Office to develop customer service best practices for all aspects of ticket sales, seating, rush and refund scenarios

• Work with Technical Director, Technical Manager and Operations Manager to manage flow of technical and program information each day of the festival

• Work with Venue Operations to set up and staff green rooms and onstage furniture movement

• Work with Operations Department to ensure all venue rules and policies are adhered to Matthew Keuter

• Coordinate staffing for Q&As and stage-managing events

• Identify signage needs for exhibition venues and work with the Operations Manager on execution and creation

• Manage the movement, setup and breakdown of all operational signage, step and repeats, red carpets and TOPS supplies

• Submit final payable hours for all House and Floor Managers

• Create a written wrap-report and summary of all necessary timeline and budget information Theater Operations Coordinator: Mill Valley Film Festival 2016 The Theater Operations Coordinator assists Theater Operationss Manager in coordinating all theater venue needs, scheduling and managing all theater staff during Festival, managing the Audience Award balloting operations and assisting Festival Operations staff with basic operational needs. Reports to Theater Ops Manager and works within the Operations Department. Supported by a Theater Operations Assistant.

Festival Venue Management

Venue Manager 2017: DocLands, California Film Institute at the Smith Rafael Film Center, a 3-screen film complex. The Venue Manager manages three house managers, and upwards of 20 volunteers to ensure safe theater operations and timely screening starts, adhering to policy and best practices. Venue Manager 2015-2016: Mill Valley Film Festival, California Film Institute at the Smith Rafael Film Center, a 3-screen film complex. Festival Venue Managers oversee each festival venue and manage the House Managers, Line Captains and Volunteers of that venue. As a Venue Manager, I interface closely with the public, projectionists, filmmakers and sponsors, and work with Development department to fulfill sponsor and donor needs.

Venue Manager 2016: Frameline Film Festival, for Castro, Victoria, and Roxie Theatres. Festival Venue Managers oversee each festival venue and manage the House Managers, Line Captains and Volunteers of that venue.

House Manager 2012-2015: San Francisco International Film Festival. The House Manager oversees the volunteers and Line Captains, and coordinates with the Venue Manager, box office and projection staff to ensure on-time screening.

House Manager 2013: Center for Asian American Media Film Festival. The House Manager oversees the volunteers and Line Captains, and coordinates with the Venue Manager, box office and projection staff to ensure on-time screening.

TEACHING/ARTS

Acting Teacher: Beverly Hills Playhouse, San Francisco, CA 2013-2014 Designed and taught a series of 6-week workshops culminating in public staged readings of full-length plays, focused on actor preparedness:
