Objective

As a person who takes pride in the completion of a high-quality product, I am looking to become a part of a company which holds similar standards. Throughout my 28 yrs. experience of a wide variety of product types, from very heavy to very light gauge material of all types, I have picked up a wide range of skills, while always looking for new ideas.

Education

GED 1998 NWTC

WELDING TECH 1999 NWTC

Major: Welding tech

Skills / Abilities

I have 28yrs. of experience with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes, as well as some Oxy-Propylene with cast aluminum.

I have done a lot of work with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, Hardox, Inconel, brass, and bronze.

My fabrication experience has ranged from very heavy pressure vessels, medium duty mild steel stainless steel and aluminum weldments, to light gauge mild steel, aluminum and as light as 20-gauge stainless steel.

My metal finishing experience has included medium finishes on mild steel, satin and fine finishes on aluminum and stainless, a lot of grain matching with #4 stainless, #6 and a fair amount of #8 polishing with stainless steel. I have also done a lot of sanitary grinding and finishing for food and medical applications.

Reading simple to quite complex blue prints has been a major part of my job in the fabrication industry.

I have a fair amount of experience with the tear down of old equipment and installation of new equipment in production as well as local dairy plants.

While possessing desire and knowledge to hold a tight tolerance when necessary, I have the ability to cut corners when such tolerances are not required, so as to limit fabrication time on the job.

With the length of time I have been in the metal industry I have often been looked to when younger people need advice with optimal weld direction so as to limit negative effects on warpage and weld pull, as well which order of welds, (first, second, third) would be best to hold tolerance.

Straightening after welding is another operation in which I have found many different technics to use, some very simple and quick when possible, along with those more time consuming when necessary, such as proper ways to reheat so as to bring back into required tolerance. Especially when it comes to angle iron weldments which many newer metal workers seem to find the most confusing.

I work well with others on large jobs.

I’m always open for new or different ways to achieve a common goal.

Experience

WELDER/FABRICATOR 5-POINT FABRICATION 2015-2017

I worked on a variety of medium to small weldments while at 5-Point. Some of the projects were mild steel, some aluminum, although the majority of my projects involved sanitary stainless steel weldments.

WELDER/FABRICATOR AMERICAN 3 FAB 2009-2016

I did a fair amount of travel work in relation to installation of new equipment for our dairy customers. I was also part of a crew which only worked on the KC account, building aluminum platforms and a variety of small weldments.

WELDER/FABRICATOR ROBINSON METAL 2006-2009

All custom fabrications including some mild steel, but mostly aluminum and stainless steel. Mainly smaller weldments from start to finish.

WELDER/FABRICATOR CARVER YACHTS 2002-2006

While at Carver I did a fair amount of #8 polished finishing on stainless steel, a lot of aluminum wire feed welding, although most of my time at Carver was stainless MIG and TIG.
