ACADEMIC THESIS & PROJECTS:

Master’s Thesis Defense- Design, Analysis and Optimization of Rear Sub-frame : The project is aimed at designing a rear sub-frame/cradle by Finite Element Modelling with the help of Altair Hypermesh® and applying the required loading conditions and performing Finite Element Topology Optimization using Altair Optistruct®. Gauge Optimization is used to refine the optimized model to make it feasible for manufacturing and mass production.

Bachelor’s Project: Design, Analysis and Fabrication of Pneumatic Artificial Muscle: The project was aimed at designing a pneumatic artificial muscle with the help of Catia and analysing the load the muscle can lift with the help of pressurized air and fabricating it for making a practical working model.

Design and Fabrication of Hovercraft: The project was aimed at designing a Hovercraft which could move from one place to another without any friction with surface and hence reduce the wear of parts in normal conventional vehicles.

PROJECT PROFILES:

Project Name: The Improvement of BIW Torsion stiffness.

Software used: ANSA, Hypermesh, FeGate, Nastran, Radioss and Optistruct.

Description: The objective of the project is to analyse the dynamic stiffness of BIW. The torsion stiffness of BIW is calculated and sensitivity analysis is carried out to understand the individual components contribution to the global stiffness. The topography optimization technique is used for further improvement. The improvement suggestions are given to the design team.

Project Name: Vertical Bending Improvement of Steering Column

Software used: Nastran, Radioss and Hypermesh and FeGate 3.0.

Description: Analysis performed in 3 conditions

a. Steering Column with SPC condition

b. Cowl cross bar + Steering Column

c. Buck Model: BIW+ Cowl cross bar + Steering Column

Vertical bending is improved by modifying the Cowl cross bar cross sectional area & improved the frequency (Buck model condition)

Project Name: Improvement of Air Cleaner Stiffness analysis

Software used: Nastran, Radioss, Hypermesh and FeGate 3.0.

Description: Normal mode of Air Cleaner is performed to know the weak area at panel mode. Modifying the rib structure and rib thickness have increased the stiffness.

Project Name: Acoustic Cavity Analysis and its theoretical derivation

Software used: Nastran, Radioss, Hypermesh and FeGate 3.0.

Description: Normal mode analysis of BIW Cavity is done to check the proximity of its mode frequencies to the components natural frequencies which will result in loud noise to be heard.

Project Name: FRF and Point Mobility Analysis of BIW, Trimmed Body Model.

Software used: Nastran, Radioss, FeGate 3.0 and Hypermesh.

Description: Building the BIW and Trimmed Body model and applying excitation loads at mounting locations and checking the response at the mounting locations. Analyze the result with the previous models and building a report.

Project Name: Full Vehicle Modeling as per Pedestrian & Roof Crush Modeling guidelines.

Software used: LS-Dyna, Hypermesh.

Description: BIW is modeled as per pedestrian crash guidelines and quarter car is selected and remodeled to assess the impact of low speed impact of legform and headform.

Project Name: Performing Chassis Drop Test of chassis

Software used: LS-Dyna, Hyperworks, Hyperview.

Description: Chassis and engine room is modeled as per modeling guidelines and connections and mechanisms are assigned to the suspension. Drop Test is performed to check the structural correctness and to find missing joints and connections.

Project Name: Full Frontal check run for BIW

Software used: LS-Dyna, Hypermesh, Hyperview.

Description: BIW is modeled as per crash safety guidelines and weld and rigid connections are added to structure as per guidelines.

REWARDS AND HONORS:

●Member of Organising committee for National Seminar on Nuclear Fuel Generation.

●Active Student Member of American Welding Society.

●Member of Career Development Program(CDP) for show of excellence in capability and responsibility at HMIE, Hyderabad
