There are three procedures in sorting – BancTec, Fujitsu, Contex
Straighten each document and the corners very carefully for BancTec, check for conservation, flags needed, and remove staples if there are any, threats.
Ensure imaging activities are conducted in a consistent and systematic manner through the use of standardized procedures, following a controlled methodology and terminology for digitization services business processes.
Quality controlling the work for sorting, an error corrected in sorting might take 10 seconds, but an error that could have been fixed in sorting, but is identified during scanning or the quality control process might take 5 minutes or more to correct so accuracy is very important.
If missing file, double check the box. Circling-slash on all three cover sheets and note the missing sequence on the box list. Emailing coordinators immediately.
Researching internal and external sources to resolve difficult problems in processing or conformance if the original photocopies are in the file, putting the copy in the envelope, and sorting the original for scanning. If the original photocopy is not there in scanning then check online database first.
If it is a manila folder or mentions the VC (Victoria Cross), then checking the database to see if the originals have already been digitized if so, then it does not need to be sort and needs to place in the envelope.
Always using the cart, place the file folder or document to get the answer from someone.
If it has unique historical information and wasn’t created by the archives, and does not have personal information more recent than 50 years ago then needs to be place in an appropriate pile based on condition.
If it does not meet all three conditions, it needs to be place in the envelope.
