Project: New Product development model of Snow Plow.

Position: Design Team Lead

Objective : Designed & developed a new model of snow plow for a Fabrication company to introduce in market.

Communicated with clients to acquire product requirements and specifications.

Developed concept, sketches, layouts & 2D drawings of prototype in CATIA V5 as per the client requirement.

Created CAD models of Snow Plow Body Assembly using part & surface modeling-CATIA V5.

Created 3D solid models of Snow Plow Body, Brackets, Springs, Bolts, Shoes, Ribs, Rods in CATIA V5

using 2D drawings and conducted DFMEA for design analysis.

Utilized surface module to design the complicate surface of parts (snow plow body, ribs, twisted brackets)

Provided Assembled drawings of all the above parts using Assemble Module in CATIA V5.

Developed tolerance calculations and error corrections criteria, tolerance stack-ups, GD&T applications,

Converted 3D model to 2D view and drafted detailed drawings as per company standards.

Worked with manufacturing shop and devised proper materials finishes, production materials and procedures.

Objective : Design & manufacture of the E-motor radiator and it’s mounting for the GM Chevy pickup truck.

Explored various solutions to determine the best radiator placement in the car.

Designed 3D model for the mount and the radiator in CATIA V5.

Developed Engineering calculations to determine the Heat rejection required for the radiator.

Benchmarked various off the shelf Radiators and incorporated the one that best fits the rating, size and price and other functional requirements

Developed 3D mounting Assembly and 2D drafted drawings using CATIA V5.

Fabricated mounting components and installed the radiator and performed testing on the radiator to validate design and functional performance.

Objective : Design & development of the seatbelt locking clip for the GM Chevy pickup truck.

Defined the functional requirement of the project

Designed 3D model for the locking clip in CATIA V5.

Studied the safety norms for the seat belts and designed the product.

Developed 2D drafted drawings as per the shop floor requirements.

Installed the locking clip and performed testing on the locking clip to validate functional performance.

Project : Stress analysis on turbine blade of Thermal Torpedo Dec 2011 –May 2012 Objective : Goal of the project is to design the blade of the Thermal torpedo using CATIA V5 & do FEA analysis in ANSYS.

Designed the body of blade in CATIA using Part design module.

Designed complicated curved surface of the turbine blade in CATIA using surface design module.

Applied operating loads and studied physical responses such as Stress levels, temperature distributions, electromagnetic fields in ANSYS and optimize the design accordingly.

Project : Emission Analysis of Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Jan 2015 – May 2015

Objective : Measured the exhaust emissions from heavy duty Cummins Heavy Duty diesel engine through AVL Emission bench using mass spectrometer and became familiar with the electronic control unit used in conjunction with the engine.

Designed a test plan for calibrating the emissions bench using the gas concentrations and executed it.

Recorded the data at several test points and evaluated the performance characteristics of the engine.

Project : Identification of Special causes in a manufacturing process Sep 2015 – Dec 2015

Objective : Identifying special causes from a process using control charts and improve quality.

Plotted data (Excel) from the production process on control charts.

Analyzed the control charts & signals (Bottlenecks/Special Causes) to physical conditions of the process.

Eliminated all the Special causes and improved process capability for the manufacturing process.

Project : Investigation of Driver Fatigue using Heart Rate Variability Jan 2015-May 2015

Objective : This study mainly targets at studying the heart rate variability of the driver over a period of time under different conditions.

Designed a driving simulator study to test the driver in active and fatigue state.

Simulated the driving scenarios such as high-way, mountain, snow etc. in the simulator MiniSIM.

Recorded heart-rate of various drivers in both active and fatigue state in different scenarios.

Correlated data obtained in different scenarios and analyzed the driver state in Matlab & validated our hypothesis.
