Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Information Management Officer, the IM Associate carries out the following tasks:
Setting and Implementing Information Management Strategies
•Support and maintain a client-oriented approach with all relevant stakeholders to help identify information requirements for their geographic products and support activities, ensuring that the information needed to support humanitarian operations (and the coordination role of the Humanitarian Coordinator, OCHA field office) is submitted / collected, organized and made available to all humanitarian stakeholders in-country.
•Maintain the client-oriented approach with all relevant stakeholders to help identify their priority information requirements.
Data Collection and Dissemination
•Collect, clean, consolidate and document (metadata) relevant statistics and spatial datasets in line with OCHA’s “Country Level Minimum Common Operational Datasets” and disseminate to cluster/sectors.
•Incorporate common standards such as P-codes and GLIDE numbers into datasets and products and insure that common operational coding standards are disseminated and used across cluster/sectors for data collection and reporting.
•Provides support when necessary for OCHA’s core information management tools, such as, the Financial Tracking System (FTS), Who Does, What and Where database (3Ws), contact directory (HID), HDX, HumanitarianResponse.info.
•Support in the development of databases and other applications to support the collection and processing of context specific data (e.g.: affected population, displaced populations, demographic and vulnerability data, results of common rapid needs assessment etc.).
•Work together with the UN partners and others to analyze the information collected as detailed above
•Collaborate with key partners and relevant agencies and organizations in the collection of data for the Humanitarian work in the country.
Other Information Management Inputs
Support the management in the development and updating of national overview/analysis papers on humanitarian work in the country.
Assist the IMWG in supporting agenda setting and providing secretariat services (eg meeting minutes)
Assist the office in organizing joint activities with partner organizations and agencies
Participate in workshops, meetings, conferences relevant to the work of the OCHA office including making presentations and acting as rapporteur as appropriate
Continue to create and maintain cohesive communication linkages between larger organizations engaged in humanitarian work in the country

A government agency under the Protective Areas, Wildlife and Coastal Zone Management Service, Coastal and Marine Management Division of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office III, lead agency in the implementation of the ADB-funded Integrated Coastal Resource Management Project (ICRMP) in nine (9) participating Municipalities in the Province of Zambales.
Accomplishments:
Involved in electronic mapping and analysis using the GIS technology (ArcMap/Arcview) in relation to Coastal and Forest Resource Management and Marine Protected Area (MPA) Management Planning.
Assisted in the conduct and updating of Participatory Coastal Resource Assessment (PCRA) in 72 coastal Barangays in the Province of Zambales.
Engaged in Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Planning, Information, Education & Communication Campaign and Biodiversity Conservation Activities in 9 coastal Municipalities in Zambales;
Conducted underwater habitat (Coral Reef, Seagrass, Fish Visual Census) assessments using SCUBA diving and terrestrial habitat (Mangrove, Beach and Forest) assessments using various scientific methods;
Provided technical assistance to coastal and upland communities in relation to natural resources management.

Accomplishments:
Raised more than 100,000 of various species of seedlings in a tree nursery from certified seeds.
Prepared planting plan and design on 300 hectares titled private property of the Company.
Established a mixed species plantation from seedlings raised at the nursery.
Maintained and protected established plantation from day one to harvest.
Performed timber stand improvement and other silvicultural treatments for better lumber yield.
Prepared annual firefighting and monitoring plan all throughout the planted areas.

An 18 million peso-grant project, assisted by the DENR Office Region 3 that covers three Barangays (Camaya, Balon Anito and Biaan), aims to reforest denuded watershed area and provide livelihood projects to the community.
Accomplishments:
Assisted and trained members of the P.O. in technical capabilities with regards to plantation management.
Monitored plantation activities of the members on a daily basis.
Prepared monthly plantation accomplishment report of the P.O.
Reported directly to the P.O. President regarding plantation update of the three Barangays.
Prepared correspondences and communications in relation to plantation documents needed by the DENR Regional Office.
