Professional Highlights

Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago, Illinois, May 2014 - Present

Senior Manager, Vehicle Engineering Projects, September 2016-Present: Using a variety of data analysis techniques, provides project oversight and technical support for Bus and/or Rail capital vehicle programs involved in the improvement, upgrade, repair, cleaning, safety, overhaul, and maintenance of revenue and non-revenue vehicles and shop equipment.

Business Intelligence Analyst, May 2014-September 2016: Utilization of markets and trends within Supply Chain operations to minimize operating costs and increase proficiency. Specific support provided to Vendor Management, Records Center Management, Purchasing, Bus Maintenance, and Rail Maintenance organizations.

Conducted a six-sigma analysis using excel to identify trends in holds for material at various CTA stockrooms and storerooms.

Excel Visual Basic programming used to create an Access database that captured information regarding the bus or railcar awaiting service at particular CTA garage, the lot number of the part that is out of stock, the velocity code of the item (fast moving part vs slow moving part), the date the part was deemed out of stock, the reason for the part being out of stock, supplier information, and the date the part was in stock. I then used Excel as a Business Intelligence portal by constructing an electronic form to query the Access Database (via Excel Visual Basic). Information captured would include daily average count of Hold Causes per month, number of unique vehicles on hold per month, daily average unique vehicles on hold per month, average days that a bus/railcar was out of service, etc.

Monthly Supply Chain Reporting (via Word) documenting inventory values by year since 2010, inventory values by month for the past calendar year, inventory values by stockroom for current month, inventory values by velocity code, percentage of buses on hold for current month out of the total fleet, percentage of railcars on hold for current month out of the total fleet, average buses on hold for current month, average number of railcars on hold for current month, number of vendor backorders for current month, vendor inventory turnover ratio for current month, CTA inventory turnover for the current month, vendor dollars spent subcontracting to disadvantaged business enterprises, rejected invoices for the month, number of price synchronization issues between vendor and CTA per month.

Excel Visual Basic programming used to extract data from 2000 page pdf file representing inventory report of paper records that CTA must keep for a fixed length of time. Information from report was merged with report identifying location of physical material in CTA’s material distribution center.

Development of performance management presentation to senior executives. Contents of performance management presentation included inventory position at the warehouse over the past year, average number of holds per vehicle/railcar per location for the year, average number of purchase orders processed for the year, average number of internal orders processed throughout the year, management of vendor pricing of inventory sold to CTA and alternative sourcing initiatives for parts.

Demand Modeling Exercises implemented to identify a list of vehicle number/lot number pairings with quantity ordered by month dating back to January 2013. Excel Visual Basic programming used to access data from databases residing on an Amazon Web Server. The Visual Basic programming utilized embedded SQL scripts to query the databases and store the results in an XML formatted file in the RAM of the PC running the Visual Basic program. Upon extraction of the data from the file, an excel report with pivot tables was automatically generated.
