IMPORT / EXPORT SPECIALIST

Crystal is an Import/Export Specialist that coordinates the movement of shipments from various points of origin to final destinations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing documentation, tracking and confirming shipment status, preparing logistics reports, coding freight bills, carrier rate negotiations, load optimizing, facilitating customs clearances, letters of credit, consolidations, tariff classifications, compliance issues, free trade utilization, freight forwarding, inter-modal dispatch, quality customer care and the daily interaction with vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation carriers and internal sales team.

Key Accomplishments:

Played a major role in reducing the company’s freight approx. by 800k in the following ways:

Successfully negotiated and reduced ocean container rates from $3600 to $3200 per container, resulting in an annual savings of 240k

Successfully optimized container loading from pallets to floor loads eliminating 1.5 containers weekly at a cost of $3200 per container, resulting in an annual savings of 249k

Successfully identified our qualification to utilize a Free Trade Agreement which allowed us to bring our goods into the country duty free, resulting in an annual savings of 300k
