Arkal Automotive is a non union Injection molding facility of Tier 1 and Tier 2 plastic automotive components. Arkal currently has 38 employees. Major Customers are GM, Mercedes, VW, Ford, Brose and HMMA.

TS 16949 Management Representative, responsible for internal auditor training, Document Control and all Systems and Process audits in the Plant. Responsible (along with Process Engineers) for updating Work Instructions, Flow diagrams, PFMEA’s and Control Plans. Also responsible for maintaining GM QSB 1927 certification.

Mando is a 600 Employee, non-union facility, Manufacturing and assembly of steering, brake and suspension systems. Tier 1 supplier for GM, Hyundai, Kia, and Chrysler.

Process Engineer (2009-February 2011)

APQP Team Coordinator, responsible for Advanced Product Quality Planning from initial sample request through the pre-launch production process to PPAP. Worked with customer Supplier Quality Engineers running trials to evaluate new products and design changes.

Also responsible for writing Product Specifications, control plans, PFMEA’s, Process Flow Diagrams, Manufacturing Specifications and Work Instructions for the plant.

Worked with other team members doing root cause analysis to resolve and prevent quality and production issues.

Thermalex is a 160 employee, non-union Aluminum Extrusion Facility, manufacturing aluminum condenser tubes and headers for automotive and residential heat exchangers. Major customers are Delphi, Carrier, Denso and Valeo.

Quality Manager (1994-2009)

Responsible for Establishing and maintaining ISO Certification, Calibration Process, Document Control, Internal Audit Process, Control Plans, Process FMEA’s, Test procedures and work instructions.

Worked directly with customers to resolve customer issues. Worked with one customer in 2007-2008 to reduce process scrap that resulted in $37,000 a month savings.

Teamed with Production and Process department and performed root cause analysis as well as implementing corrective actions. Led continuous improvement and problem solving teams in the plant that led to reduced scrap and improved quality on several product lines.

Interfaced with Corp. Product Development and Process Engineers developing new products and processes. We developed 7 new product lines from 2005-2008.

Managed 16 QA inspectors. Responsible for training Inspectors to use CMM, Optical Comparator, spectrophotometer, and other test equipment.

Responsible for establishing procedures and implementing processes to achieve the ISO 9000 certification at the plant level. Led the Lanett Facility to its first ISO 9002 Certification in 1997.

Participated in 22 successful third party Audits to maintain registration. Our most recent triennial assessment resulted in 3 findings. Auditor findings have been extremely low, ranging from 2 to 5 for each audit since 2002.

Successfully implemented ISO 9001:2000 in 2001 in Lanett Facility.

Helped Start up the Shasta Lake, California Plant in 2002.

Knauf Insulation had 365 non-union employees. The facility extrudes glass for commercial and residential fiberglass insulation. Also a tier 2 supplier of fiberglass headliners, hood liners and dash panels for the Automotive Industry.

Quality Coordinator (1987-1994)

Supervised four Inspectors in completing In Process and Raw Material Inspections. Responsible for teaching Statistical tools, Lab Procedures, test equipment (CMM, spectrophotometer, fiber index tester etc.) and maintaining quality records.

Able to do wet chemistry analysis and also able to use IR spectrophotometer.

Recommended and implemented a company wide method for calibrating fiber index testers.

Set up the quality labs along with test procedures and frequencies when the Lanett facility started in 1988.
