Rumpke Recycling, Dayton OH 2004-2016

Division Manager 2004-2016

● Responsible for Recycling Division in Dayton, which included residential

and commercial recycling plant, glass recycling plant, and a public recycling

buyback center.

● Provide leadership to Recycling Managers and Foremen in all Recycling

departments in Dayton location.

● Oversee scheduled work for employees, monitored budgeted hours, tracked

employee attendance, vacation and leave schedules.

● Ensure all work performed by staff is completed in a safe manner in

compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.

● Scheduled production, maintained inventory of finished product, and worked

with corporate marketing department to supply end user with finished

recycled commodities

● Budgeted and oversaw capital projects including installation of Rumpke’s Glass

Plant (2011) and Rumpke’s Pre-cleaning Plant (2014), which are both unique

in the industry.

● Budgeted to have Glass Plant run with 85% run-time and averaged 86% and was

budgeted to run Recycling Pre-cleaning plant at 90% and actual was 96%.

● Responsible to keep daily/monthly reports on incoming material, outgoing sold

material, daily run-time production, baling production, labor hours and safety &

environmental compliance.

● Responsible to oversee maintenance of facility and machines, plus inventory and

cycle counts. Cycle count goal 98% or better, never below that in 11 years.

● Responsible to track and approve all invoices and rebates for the Glass Plant and

Recycling Plant.

● Received OSHA 30 Hour certification

● Oversee and approve of evaluations and disciplinary action of employees.

● Had two surprise OSHA audits in 12 yrs, multiple visits by RAPCA/Ohio EPA

each year plus multiple Fire Dept. inspections each year and had zero NOV’s or

fines.

● Implemented cross training program where each position had a at least two

employees could perform it; most positions had 3-4 employees cross-trained.

● Responsible for production of dry cleaning in main production facility. This

facility’s production capacity was increased from processing 5 dry cleaning

locations to processing 8 dry cleaning locations in my first 3 months.

every person is crossed trained in at least 2 areas of production and it is also
