Product engineer for rotary UPS. Responsibilities included design and development of rotary UPS product

line from the ground floor up. UPS designs ranged from 125-1000 kVA stand alone, and 1000-5000 kVA

parallel. Equipment designed and used to build rotary UPS includes SCR bridges (12 pulse rectifiers to

minimize harmonics), transformers, programmable logic controllers, printed circuit boards, motor starters,

induction motors, synchronous motors and synchronous generators. Used synchronous motors to improve

power factor. Designed 600 VAC and DC switchboards for parallel UPS operation. Developed standards for

product line and testing requirements. Trained testing department in operation and testing of UPS product. Protective relay use for equipment.

Worked with marketing and consulting engineers on a daily basis to sell and promote product. Management

and training of junior engineers, designers, drafters, and servicemen of product line to meet specifications

engineered and used: German built rotary UPS, 600vAC switchgear, 600vDC switchboards, battery
