EDUCATION

Wayne State University GPA: 3.56/4.00 Detroit, MI, USA Master of Science in Industrial Engineering April 2017 Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology Hyderabad, TS, India Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering May 2015 WORK EXPERIENCE

Vajra Automation Private Limited Hyderabad, AP, India Quality Intern April 2014- March 2015.

Ensured that products are manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality by implementing the Total Quality Management System.

An active member of the quality team in successful documentation and implementation of PPAP and APQP requirements by replicating the Engineering changes as directed by the customer.

8D Analysis were performed to find the root cause of the issue and permanent corrective actions were developed and submitted within the period.

Utilized SPC to monitor the current production process by performing Capability studies to detect and minimize the significant variations.

Examined the Control plans to ensure that process requirement and expectations were visible for all functional areas.

Assisted in developing internal measurement gauge R&R in support of required technical proficiency studies.

Participated in process failure mode and effect analysis (PFMEA) investigations directed at specific operational and throughput improvements.

Developed Quality Alerts and Visual Aids for the operators to address the critical customer concerns.

Product Trail Runs (PTR) were performed to support the Engineering Changes and the results were analyzed for better Product or Process Development.

Design Records were examined using GD&T Techniques to ensure all the dimensional specifications were consistent with the customer requirements.

Analyzed the Gage Design to make sure it addresses all the Critical and Significant Characteristics (CC &SC) of the product.

Liaison reports were examined to identify the major customer issues using DPPM and IPPM charts and the same were addressed to Operators.

Stat Coat Systems Bangalore, KA, India

Quality Intern January 2013- July 2013.

Assisted in developing Poka-Yoke Techniques on the production line to prevent the customer from receiving defective parts.

Statistical analysis is performed using Minitab to draw X-bar, R-charts, and Cpk, Ppk values were determined.

Performed Keen Operation analysis using DMAIC (Define Measure Analyse Improve Control) methodology to identify areas that are ripe for Cost and Cycle time reduction.

Identified the control factors by implementing Fish-Bone diagram and determined the stability of processes using Control charts.

Exercised lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Process mapping as part of continuous improvement program.

Assisted in performing Pareto analysis and identified top 5 defects which contribute around 70% of the total defects and appropriate actions were taken to reduce them. ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

VSM and Lean Simulation in Automotive Company Assembling Clutch Discs Aug 2016

This project aims at implementing the VSM (Value stream mapping) in an automotive company that assembles the clutch discs, located in three different locations in Sau Paulo.

By comparing the simulations done on the current and future state to support suggested improvements, we could observe 7% reduction in total production time and 10 % increase in work positions.

The results showed that VSM combined with simulation is a good alternative in the decision- making for change in production process

Introduction of Rotary Mechanism in Engine Assembly Layout May 2016

The main focus of the project is to eliminate the bottleneck stations by introducing Rotary indexing mechanism along with sensory technology and walking beam concepts.

Through the incorporation of these concepts, semi-automation is improved to fully automated stations; reducing the involvement of manual operators and therefore reducing the number of defective parts. These cumulatively result in cost savings for the organization through increased production rate.

Optimization of Transportation Network for Baerlocher Dec 2015

Baerlocher India transports the chemical additives processed in different plants of the company to customers across the cities in India.

Initially, the company was not using any optimized route and the deliveries were made on a random order basis. The implementation of this project would result in 20 percent savings in the transportation cost.
