Professional Experience
Panasonic Oct 2015 to Nov 2016
Senior Project Analyst
Primary developer and end-user system analyst to develop a forms and software based solution to encapsulate the work of managing the billing plans, active/suspended status, location, and history of approximately 5,000 cellular modems on aircraft around the world.
Implementation included 45+ normalized tables for data, metrics, auditing, and logging
Application required dozens of procedures and functions, Events, and triggers
Optimized SQL queries with judicious use of (functional) indicies, efficient statements, and normalization
SQL and PHP code was instrumented to augment functionality and provide adjustable levels of auditing
Used JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and PHP to implement the DB based solution to a huge spreadsheet
Separate from this project, I generated reports with Tableau for a few weeks in support of other programs
T-Mobile Aug 2015 to Oct 2015
Source Systems Analyst
Working on the Marketing track to identify source systems, databases, schemas, tables, and attributes in legacy systems so to map them to a new Integrated DW.
Interviewing architects and data administrators to map sometimes vague sought-for attribute names and descriptions to existing systems.
Startup viaBlitz Jun 2014 to Feb 2015
DB Architect, DBA, QA Engineer using MySQL
Working closely under a NDA with genius entrepreneur and remote teams, performing all data management duties
Designed (improved) schemas supporting the functionality and relationships of the developing product
Automated the table and foreign key creation activities, a flexible backup regimen, maintenance routines and replication; using MySQL via XAMPP, shell scripts, and PHP
Performing QA oversight of contractor work, and working with test bed for future enhancements
Providing technical system specification, including DFDs, Data Dictionary, CRUD, and more
Training Apr 2013 to Jun 2014
I took some time off to resolve some family issues that are now resolved.
At the same time I returned to the 'classroom' with the goal of updating and maintaining my knowledge of Database Engineering and Software Engineering.
I've always excelled at development and loved it, I thought it wise to pursued DBA training in order to make myself a more wise Developer
I competed 50 hours instructor-led, self-paid-for Oracle 11g DBA training and followed that up with hundreds of additional hours of exercises on my own
I implemented a couple AWS EC2 instances with MySQL and was preparing to set up replication and follow that up with using PostgreSQL at home to use its Foreign Data Wrappers to connect to the slave
I have kept up to date by reading a plethora of articles and papers on wise Data Management practices, 'Big Data', and of the functional features and approaches with MySql, Oracle, and PostgreSQL

Personal Accomplishments and World Firsts
While at Boeing I was the first to incorporate a stepper (vs. analog) motor to a national standard-alike manometer. Making full use of this enhancement I was the world's first engineer to configure this standard to generate (versus only measure) known pressures to 0.005% of reading above 15 inches of mercury. I created a touch screen application enabling manual control, or selection of other customizable self-authored applications. The screen incorporated a dashboard to provide up to the moment indication of the current program and hardware status and progress, the current pressure, and the test device's reading via an I/F bus.
At 19 I built a motorized battery powered scuba tow, (ala Cousteau). I'm a certified SCUBA diver
At age 15 I coordinated every aspect of a world record setting 600 mile marathon swim that required the 24-hour involvement of 100 swimmers, lifeguards and parental chaperones
I am a successful mole hunter.
