Experienced Concept to launch product design and release, by working with Design, manufacturing teams and customers to deliver a high quality product as per customer requirement with optimized cost and performance
Conducted time and motion study to improve the production by 6% and reduce labour effort by 12%
Implemented process mapping to eliminate non-value added activities, resulted in improved cycle time by 5%
Designed Process and scheduled batches for new orders to meet the deadline
Developed shop floor metrics to depict where bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities exist, and take actions
Minimized 10% waste through 5S Audits, statistical analysis and visual management SOP documentations
Developed Value Stream Map to depict NVA activities and perform re-layout to minimize waste and maximize throughput
Generated and documented PFMEA, APQP and PPAP
Lead cross-functional teams to design product as per requirement and used DMAIC for improvements
Continuous Improvement Engineer EPCOS-TDK Pvt. Ltd, India July 2013 to May 2014
Utilized Six Sigma DMAIC methodology for projects to facilitate continuous improvement in plant
Followed Kaizen techniques for continuous improvements and rectifying bottleneck affecting the line
Worked on process requirements and benchmarks, rectifying bottlenecks using root cause analysis (RCA), 5Whys, 8D and SPC
Defined problem statement, project scope with design, manufacturing teams
Verified and validated the final design based on DFMEA and Worked with manufacturing team for the feasibility of unit on machines
Followed standard operating procedures to ensure ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard were maintained
Increased throughput by 30% of final product and increased the load bearing capacity from 5N to 15N
Using DMAIC techniques, improved the Process cycle efficiency from 1.7% to 11.2% and acquired an annual cumulative savings of INR 850,000
Mechanical Engineering Intern Himanshu Engineering Services, India July 2011 to June 2012
Created 3D/2D drawings with GD&T mark-ups using AutoCAD, Pro-E, and solid works
Released 2D prints for manufacturing
Drafted designs and explained blueprints to manufacturing team
Conducted quality check of materials received
Hands on experience with welding, lathe, milling, grinding, stamping, forming, assembly, Laser/water jet CNC machine
Supervision on floor, documenting designs, making bills were other duties assigned
Project Work:
Graduate Student University of Texas at Arlington, TX, USA Jan 2015 to Dec 2016
Product Development Production and Reliability Design: Six Sigma DMAIC project, by applying the DMAIC methodology to the Hopper’s Choppers cycle time dilemma, the total cycle time was reduced from 3.5 weeks to 2 weeks. Used SPC, FMEA, value stream map, root cause analysis to define problems and implement improvements
Simulation and Optimization: As a team our main objective was to design and simulate a process with the given amount of resources and a fixed throughput at the end. We used six sigma DMAIC method to execute the entire project. We started the process design by parts and analyse them and then integrated them as a whole at the end.
Facility Planning and Design: To design a new, cost-justified Distribution centre for ACME to support business projections through 2021. Which includes product flow, Equipment Selection, space utilization, operational plan, designing of DC layout using AutoCAD and analysis.
Educational Qualifications:
Master of Science (MS) - Industrial Engineering University of Texas at Arlington, USA GPA: 3.6/4.0 (Dec-2016)
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) - Mechanical Engineering University of Pune, India GPA: 3.3/4.0 (May-2014)
Certification:
Six Sigma Green Belt Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) License No. 2500-15415
