Designed and implemented an Annual Operating Plan that was used to control costs, manage production and set standards for acceptable levels of productivity and administration expenditures. Also used to control cash flow and was significant in securing a 6 million dollar credit line with the bank. Actual to Budget comparisons were done on a monthly basis and used to analyze monthly data to help correct, direct and monitor daily activity. Package became the gold standard for the lending bank which they used to show other customers how they could avoid audits and maintain a strong and informative relationship with the bank while meeting all requirements. Package was actually included in the bank covenants and was required to be completed on a monthly basis.

>> Designed an Annual Audit Package

Set up a package where all the necessary audit material was laid out in an organized and systematic way to allow the auditors quick access to all information. Analysis and summations were done for each general ledger account. Once implemented this package reduced the audit cost by 20% and reduced the time spent on site by the audit team by 5 days. Package was also used when being audited by the IRS, Mass State Revenue Department and various insurance agency.

>> Vast Expertise in Dealing with Outside Agencies

Interacted on a continual basis with the following agencies: IRS, Legal Firms, CPA & Tax Firms, Insurance, Unemployment, Workers Comp, EPA, and OSHA.

>> Designed and Implemented a Direct Costing System

Designed and installed a completely new direct cost system replacing a total absorption standard cost system. New system interfaced with the active bills of material and fed out information to the P &L and departmental budgets. Also interfaced with the Sales department by designing and using cost models to project pricing and profitability by line item and project summary cost, on major bids. Sales manager could input projected selling prices in the model and instantly be give a project profit analysis.

>> Proven Leadership Skills

Was lead financial manager in steering a company through a successful Chapter 11.. Later purchased company with sales of 4 million dollars and grew the company to having sales of 20 million dollars. Was manager in charge of Financing and Accounting, Human Resource Department, IT Department and Outside Legal Counsel.

>> Experience in Negotiating Union Contracts

Was instrumental in negotiating numerous contracts with the Machinist Union and handled union disputes within the company with an union representative. Was part of a management task force that ended the company from having a union and devised a structure that empowered an employee driven board to settle all employee disputes within the company. Wrote and presented the first company hand book that is still used to this day as a guideline for all employees.

>> Special Projects

Was lead in implementing a computer software package that integrated all aspects of the manufacturing process to tract cost, inventory status and product movement. This software became the heart and soul of the company’s operations and was instrumental cutting cost and improving inventory accuracy.

2011 Business Man of the Year Voted by the Westfield Chamber of Commerce, for outstanding performance in the business community.

2012 Man and Youth Award Voted by the Westfield Boys and Girls Club for the support and aide given to the children of the Westfield community.

Chairman of the Board of the Western Mass Credit - 2001 to 2008. Was responsible for merging the credit union with a larger credit union to save it from bankruptcy.
