CORE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Helped develop an integrated healthcare program for North Community Counseling Centers & Columbus Neighborhood Health Clinics which after implementation resulted in better coordinated care for mentally and physically ill and restored patient confidence in healthcare providers.

Spearheaded a multi site Tele-psychiatry program for the Ohio prison system which helped provide consistency in coverage in remote prison sites. Conducted a 10 months long highly successful pilot project which allowed for appreciating the critical differences in delivering care using this modality and adopting ways to create an effective meaningful patient encounter.

Initiated controlled drug use protocol at North Community Counseling Centers which successfully minimized the prescription drug diversion and overuse, providing primary prevention for at risk population for alcohol and substance use.

Streamlined the involuntary medication policy for the Ohio prison system which resulted in greatly decreased incidence of staff and inmate assaults as well as decreased use of physical and chemical restraints throughout the state.

Developed a clinical program for the highly treatment resistant self injurious patient population in Ohio prison system which resulted in substantial decrease in frequency and severity of this pathology containing human suffering while saving costs in hospital and emergency room services.

Identified critical areas of improvement after detailed analysis of completed suicides in the Ohio prison system between 2010 and 2013 which upon implementation helped bring the completed suicide rate much below national average for the general population. The Average Suicide rate in US Prison system is above that of General Population in all other states.

Developed and carried out a regularly occurring training program for all mental health staff and for mid level providers ( Nurse Practitioners)which was well received and resulted in demonstrable improvement in their core competencies and clinical outcomes.

Assisted in launching the electronic health records at North Community Counseling Centers resulting in a seamless transition from paper records to electronic health records without disruption of patient care.

Spearheaded the Buprenorphine Substitution and originated the Naltrexone Conversion Program at Maryhaven Inc. Ohio, educating and inspiring younger participants towards complete recovery and transition to Naltrxone treatment. As a result enrollment to Naltrxone Conversion Program increased to highest numbers ever recorded at Maryhaven.

Successfully detoxified patients with Opiate, Alcohol and Benzodiazepine dependence as well as co-morbid Chronic Pain Syndrome achieving tolerable levels of pain post detoxification utilizing integrated model interventions at Enterhealth Life recovery Center, Texas. Effectively reduced recidivism rate for both Alcohol and Opiate dependence. Also the program completion rate rose to nearly 100%.

Provided effective leadership as Medical Director at Enterhealth Life Recovery Center, working intimately with families and staff to steer patients from using prescribed stimulants for co-morbid ADHD while introducing Neurofeedback as effective and proven treatment of choice for ADHD in substance Use disorder patients. This helped to significantly reduce relapse rates at the center.
