I have a proven track record of setting and achieving goals and success in providing excellent public service to county and city residents. I have been dedicated law enforcement professional with experience in all facets of the law enforcement profession.
My skills, training and abilities include presently working as a Deputy Police Chief where I am responsible for running the day to day operations of the Police Department, Field Operations Division Commander, Administrative Services/Office of Professional Standards Division Commander, Administrative Services/Criminal Investigations Division Commander, Uniform Patrol Division Commander, Sergeant (Watch Commander), Investigator, Patrol Officer, K-9 Handler, Court Team member, Tactical Squad Member, SCRT Team Member and Jailer. I have my Basic Law Enforcement Certification, Intermediate Certification, Advanced Certification, Supervisory Certification, Management Certification and FTO Certification.
I am a Graduate of the Southern Police Institute (SPI) at the University of Louisville. I am a Graduate of the Chief Executive Training Class and a graduate of the Professional Management Program at Columbus State University.
I have my Master Degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University, Graduate of Columbus State Universities Command College, and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Waldorf College.
I received a commendation award from the United States Marine Corps for outstanding job performance during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I received a commendation award from the Director of the F.B.I. for the capture of a federally wanted bank robber and murderer. I was appointed as a Special Agent for the GBI from June 4, 2004 until June 12, 2004 to work the G-8 Summit where I was a supervisor working with Routes and Motorcades Transport. I also received a Certificate of Commendation, for my work with the G-8 Summit, by the Governor of Georgia, Sonny Perdue. I have several other commendations and Officer of the Year awards throughout my law enforcement career.
I started with the Douglas Police Department September 29, 2010 as the Deputy Police Chief running the day to day operations of the police department with the Commander of Field Operations, Staff Services and Professional Standards and Training reporting directly to me and where I am still employed. In 2012 I wrote a grant through the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for a HEAT Unit as a multi-jurisdictional unit consisting of the Douglas Police Department and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department. We received the grant and I was given the task of running this multi-jurisdictional unit through the Douglas Police Department. I was instrumental in getting the unit up and running and we are currently are in our 5th year of operation.
